With just under 12,000 miles on the odometer this 1978 BMW R100RS
Limited Edition is a rare breed. It is 1 of just 200 R100RS's
imported into the United States as a "Motorsport" production
series.
The 980cc horizontally opposed twin engine is numbers matching with
the correct 40mm Bing carburetors. This BMW was recently brought to
MAX BMW a renowned BMW specialist for full inspection and a reseal
of the top end.
With the turn of a key this motorcycle comes to a quick start and a
clean smooth idle. This BMW motorcycle is ready to be ridden!
The white paint with red and blue stripes is in exceptionally good
condition and believed to be the original factory paint. Designer
Hans Muth's factory frame mounted fairing shows very little age.
The original snowflake alloy wheels show patina with no area of
excessive wear or damage. The proper dark blue bench seat presents
very nicely as well.
Whether this rare BMW motorcycle is added to a motorcycle
collection, ridden on the German Audubon to reach the reported top
speed of 124mph, or purchased as an investment this 1978 BMW R100RS
Limited Edition is becoming more desired with age.
