The upgraded V8 from the Falcon six cylinder engine was the 260 c.i. V8 produced on the same assembly line with other 1964 Fords, the early models were titled as 1965 models although they were actually from the 1964 production era. After September 1964 the 260 V8 was dropped in favor of the larger 289 V8 like this particular car. This particular example boasts its original 'Candyapple Red' T code) color paint with a Luxury White Pony bucket seats interior and was built with the C4 automatic transmission and a 2.80:1 axle. This particular example has obviously been well preserved and maintained and the car drives very well with no known mechanical issues. It should be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - a very striking example which turns heads wherever she goes! The engine is extremely strong and responsive and the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool. In summary this is one very fine and striking rare 1966 Ford Mustang 289 V8 Convertible and a great daily driver for any American classic car lover. A beautiful example of this increasingly collectible and one of the most desirable classic Mustangs ever in turn-key ready daily driving, daily head-turning, and daily appreciating condition!
