out this amazing, elegant, and very rare 1929 Nash Advance Six
Cabriolet.
With a water cooled inline six cylinder engine that was set up with
twin ignition system and produced for only 2 years, this vehicle is
extremely rare given the condition it is in. It was said this
vehicle had a top speed of around 75 mph. The Nash Advance Six 400
series Cabriolet had a longer wheelbase, at 130 inches, than most
cabriolets of its time. The transmission was a conventional
unsynchronized three-speed manual sliding-gear with a single speed
reverse.
This Nash has a four-wheel mechanical drum brake system. Also, the
1929 Nash Advance Six Cabriolet had an available stainless steel
radiator, cowlings, and headlamp housings. This 1929 Nash 400
Series was the first to use a Twin ignition system and it gave the
added umph to a really elegant Cabriolet. It posses the standard
set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals,
throttle, and gearshift. This Advanced Six fuel transfer system was
situated in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall
and the dash panel where the fuel flowed to the carburetor by
gravity. A small vent door provided adjustment of the amount of hot
air allowed into the cab.
The Nash Cabriolet with all its elegant looks and lines also
possessed an easy to use convertible top. With just two latches you
went from coupe to convertible. The other neat feature about this
Nash is that is has a sturdy rumble seat that is made of a very
thick grade leather. Nash called it Spanish leather and this
Advanced Six still has the original seats due to the leather
holding up for almost 100 years.
