This 1941 Buick Special Sedanet is a terrific custom build that
gives you a great cruiser style on the outside, a loaded interior,
an adjustable air ride suspension underneath, and a big caddy V8
under the hood. It makes for the kind of full custom that few
expected, but everyone will never forget.
The Sedanet is a special coupe with fastback lines, and the trim
tag even tells us this was the more powerful special edition. So it
just seems like the ideal car to get the full custom cruiser
treatment. The uniqueness starts with the silver metallic paint. It
has the bright glow in the sunshine that instantly announces this
is an upgraded classic. This does a great job of showing off the
Buick's curves without turning this 80+ year-old classic into a
trailer queen. The brightwork is looking nice and bright so that it
can showcase the unique 1941 grille, wraparound chrome bumpers,
distinct headlight trim, and full-length side trim. It all looks
quite nice thanks to sheet metal that shows proper care. You have
all the best classic cruiser pieces, like a windshield sunshade, a
spotlight for display, fender guides up front, fender skirts in the
rear, and wire wheels with whitewall tires. The two-tone blue
pinstripes take this into the post-war era of custom street machine
cool. And the clear headlights with LED halos are a pure modern
upgrade. So this is a special coupe that showcases decades of
custom car progress.
At first glance, the interior keeps a classic style. But then you
start to see the suede-like fabric inserts on the seats, matching
door panels, plush carpet, and glossy dash that all show newer
investments that make this much more comfortable. And speaking of
comfy, you have nice modern features like power windows, power
locks, keyless entry, an AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input, and
provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow
ideally cold again.) The art deco dash trim and beautiful gauges
remind you that this is a true classic, and the custom steering
wheel on a polished tilt column reminds you this is a true
cruiser.
The Buick Eight badge up front was a sign that this has a serious
motor in the 1940s, and that spirit is only upgraded today. After
all, this stylish Special was really reaching into Cadillac
territory, and so this one now even has Cadillac power. This is the
mighty 500 cubic-inch V8, which was their largest displacement big
block. So it makes plenty of coupe-moving torque, especially when
it inhales with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and exhales through
a glasspack dual exhaust. There are also nice supporting components
like an HEI distributor and an electric fan. As you look underneath
the car, the suspension keeps much of its classic style, which
reminds you that Buick made quite a comfortable car even before
WWII. And this is enhanced by the air ride suspension that lets you
dial-in your comfort and stance. Add in power steering, power
brakes, and a stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, and
this Buick lives up to its custom cruiser style.
You're looking at a rare Buick upgraded for added style, comfort,
and power. It's a true total package classic that you need to get
in your garage. Call today!!!
