Vehicle Description
This 1965 Ford Fairlane has been given the right investment to be a
sleek sleeper-style mean machine. So check out the upgraded
suspension, four-on-the-floor, and awesome 351 V8 all wrapped in a
very clean and inconspicuous package.
There's something fundamentally attractive about the 1965 Fairlane.
These were intermediate cars, but they were styled to have
full-size flair. The tall/sharp fenders, flatter front end, tall
grille, and quad headlights looked like they wanted to take up
maximum space and own the road. And this example shows a solid
investment in keeping an appealing style. There's a sleek look to
the maroon paint, the big chrome bumpers shine nicely, and the
full-length trim showcases the straightness of the sheet metal.
Plus, the classic details are nice everywhere from the hood
ornament to the tail light trim. And the dog dish hubcaps are pure
stock, but they also can be a beacon. After all, this Ford wants to
go incognito, but real enthusiasts know about the Thunderbolt and
other quarter mile kings that had a similar appearance. So this
sleeper style actually makes many of us pay attention when spotting
it at cars & coffee.
Just like the exterior, the interior shows off nice investments in
a clean style with the right touch of competition-ready attitude.
The full black package has a fresh look on the carpeting, door
panels, and headliner. And the two wide rows of bench seats look
clean and complete, right down to the bright buttons in the
seatback. Of course, the bench seat cars were also exactly what you
had in the best factory blacktop burners. The same vibe goes for
the clean radio delete dash. Plus, you have additions like the
Hurst floor shifter. And the tach prominently added to the top of
the dash was a vintage version of a head-up display back in the
day.
The engine bay has the look of a proper investment, and the tidy
setup puts the hardy components like those Ford Racing valve covers
on full display. Plus, this 351 cubic-inch V8 has been enhanced
with performance pieces like an Edelbrock 750 CFM four-barrel
carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer Air Gap aluminum intake, and
Patriot aluminum heads. There are also good supporting components
like an HEI distributor and a large aluminum radiator. The V8 fires
up with gusto as the dual exhaust feeds a set of glasspack
mufflers. And while you're looking under the car, check out the
upgraded rear end with a triangulated four-link and QA1 adjustable
coilovers. It's a solid and powerful street machine, and you take
firm control over it all thanks to the four-speed manual
transmission.
This has the classic sleeper style we all love and it even has the
driving sensation of a vintage quarter-mile machine. It makes for a
true classic with a truly irresistible personality. Call
