This 1937 Chevrolet 5-Window coupe is a professionally built custom
that likes to show off. After all, you have one of the slickest and
most thoughtful paint themes around; there's a luxury car interior;
and there's the right kind of small block power that makes it easy
to cruise near or far.
The extra care that went into this custom starts with the paint.
The creamy white and burgundy are two of the most sophisticated
colors around, and so it really makes for a terrific sense of style
when you see them intertwined at this level. The details include
the cream used for pinstriping on top of the burgundy on the hood
and truck. And the burgundy stripes against the cream add emphasis
to this Chevy's best design lines. There's even burgundy shading
against the graphics to give it extra depth. The reason why
everything can look so smooth is that you have a carefully crafted
steel body and running boards. But the fenders, hood, and trunk are
fiberglass to give you smoother lines that allow for the
bumper-free front end, custom chrome grille, and frenched license
plate. Jewel-like headlights, shaved door handles, sport mirrors,
polished dual exhaust tips, and an attractive set of Ridler 18-inch
wheels are all part of the total package that makes this
irresistibly engaging.
The cream interior continues the car's premium and thoughtful
style. And there's a terrific quality here with details like
perforated upholstery, custom door panels, door poppers on the key
fob, and a fully finished trunk. In fact, the whole inside is a
carefully crafted custom for comfortable driving with features like
an AM/FM/CD stereo, power windows, cup holders, and provisions for
modern R134a air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold
again.) Part of this custom's true cruiser attitude is also because
there's a great driver's setup with front bucket seats and an
armrest console in-between. There's also a grippy Impala steering
wheel on a tilt column and a full VDO gauge package.
The engine bay has a tidy style and a nice polished presentation on
the valve covers, air grabber, and alternator. This classic Chevy
is still bow tie powered, but now with plenty more power. It's a
350 cubic-inch V8 with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an
upgraded intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. This
makes for a very nice power package that really moves this classic
with confidence. Plus, you have the comfort of a new rack & pinion
power steering setup, a Mustang II-style front suspension, a
three-speed automatic transmission, and power brakes with front
discs.
This is the custom Chevy with an exceptionally thoughtful style
inside and out, and it has the cruiser attitude that lets you show
it off everywhere with ease. So if you want to drive distinction,
