For sale 1968 Camaro - Arizona car!
Frame-off restoration. Pick the color, all this car needs is paint. I have over $32,000 invested in this car (I have all receipts). This car is the perfect car for someone that wants a beautiful classic muscle car at a great price and is willing to do the final finishing of this project. This muscle car is 98% complete and has all of the parts to finish the project, plus extras...This car was a standard coupe 1968 Camaro that originally came with a straight 6-cylinder motor. I have replaced just about every major part on this vehicle.
There is one thing that needs to be finished…the paint. I was going to paint it a color called Prowler Orange which is like a Sunburst color, not really orange. If you are unfamiliar with the color look it up. This car is an Arizona car, with absolutely no rust to be found. This car has been kept in my garage since I purchased it and has not seen rain since I have owned it. I had most of the body panels replaced only because the vehicle had some bondo due to minor collisions from the previous owner. The title is clean, not a restored or salvage title. This vehicle has no bondo and no rust anywhere. I have a complete build sheet showing every part that was purchased, the date and cost of the part. I also have every receipt to back up the build sheet. I have over $32,000 invested without any labor for the work that I did myself (I did most of the labor myself). With labor it would have been well over $50,000 to get this car to this point.
I purchased the car in October 2004 and had most of the body work professionally done. I had the following body parts replaced; Rear quarter panels (both sides), trunk lid, door skins, fenders (both), tail pan, header panel, lower valance, rear spoiler, and a new 2” cowl hood. I removed the frame, and had the frame sand blasted and powder coated (black) along with the radiator core support, inner fenders, upper and lower A-arms, hood hinges, and 23 additional small brackets and such.
I replaced the entire front suspension including springs, tie rods, ball joints, idler arm, pitman arm, bushings, etc. I dropped the front end 2” with Hotchkis lowering springs, and dropped the rear with 1-1/2” Hotchkis lowering leaf springs and complete front and rear shocks. The front drum brakes were converted to Disc brakes. This vehicle also had manual steering which has been converted to power steering. New dual 3” exhaust system front to back. New Boyd Coddington rims. Complete wiring harness from American Auto Wire.
The interior has been completely redone with Fatmat sound deadening material all over the interior, newly upholstered seats, new headliner, new carpet and the dashboard was professionally done by Al Knock Interiors.
This is an SS clone and I have all of the emblems (also new), new SS 350 gas cap, new front grill, new headlight trim, new windshield installed, felts, and have all of the misc. lights, reflectors, door handles, door and trunk gaskets, etc. to finish this off once it is painted. See pictures of the boxes of parts that I have that are in the trunk. It does need the rear glass which is only around $150.
The motor was built locally by well qualified engine builder and is a 350 motor with double hump heads, large cam, new 750 AED (Holley) carb with electronic choke, HEI, 6a ignition, and many other high performance parts.
A decent paint job will run around $5,000. I put new interior door panels on, and a center console (probably the only used part that I bought for the car, but is in excellent condition).
Circumstances force me to sell. With the existing parts, and countless hours of labor, sweat and broken knuckles, there is easily $50,000 into this car and adding $5000 for paint would make this car worth over $50,000. Look at what other cars are going for here and figure the cost of a paint job. I am asking $28,900 or best offer. Remember, no taxes or fees, cash only will not carry.
