1966 Pontiac GTO Clone Convertible
Car History
We have a great reproduction of a classic muscle car here with our
1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible Clone at Adventure Classics.
It is finished in aqua-blue with a black convertible top over a
black interior, and power comes from a 326 cubic inch V8 paired
with the three-speed automatic transmission.
Features include power-assisted steering and brakes, Rally I
wheels, aftermarket stereo system, and a dual exhaust system.
Engine & Drivetrain
The 326 cubic inch V8 engine is equipped with a four-barrel
carburetor and still looks as it did when it left the showroom with
its Pontiac blue painted block but improved with polished aluminum
finned Edelbrock valve covers, aluminum intake, and chrome open
element air cleaner, cast iron factory exhaust headers, power
steering and brakes, with all the other factory appearing stock
engine parts and hoses.
The appearance of the engine compartment is nice too as it is clean
and painted with the power sent to the rear wheels via a
three-speed automatic transmission. It also has a dual exhaust
system flowing out under the rear bumper with its chrome tips.
Interior
The interior looks all like restored factory twin front bucket
seats that are trimmed in black vinyl with matching rear seat,
black carpets and door panels, black dash pad and black dash
equipped with factory gauges and controls, a Pontiac clock and 120
mph speedometer, center console, aftermarket chrome encased stereo
radio system, automatic floor shifter in the console, and a
black/chrome sports steering wheel.
Exterior
Our GTO has a new aqua blue paint job covering the body and
highlighted by the great Pontiac styling elements of 1966 including
the sleek fenders, quad vertical headlights, chrome bumpers, GTO
badging, and the iconic GTO hood scoop.
It has Rally I wheels that wear chrome trim rings and mounted with
black sidewall tires on all four corners and handling is great as
you could expect with power-assisted steering and brakes that were
optioned from the factory.
Conclusion
The restored 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible clone we have here at
Adventure Classics is a super looking and running re-do of a
classic GTO with a lot of appeal and at a price that won't break
your budget.
