For Sale: 1957 Pontiac Star Chief in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

High quality body off frame restoration. From the prestigious Art Astor collection. Star Chief was Pontiac's flagship car full of unique design features in and out. It has so much more to offer than a 57 Chevy. This one has the performance tri-power carbs which even has 7 more hp than the fuel line in the Chevy.

EXTERIOR: The body is excellent. Its straight, no damage or rust. Body gaps are excellent. Repainted it's original Kenya Ivory and Cordova red accent. The paint is polished smooth and glossy, no significant flaws. Substantial amount of chrome front and back is straight and shiny. The stainless trim is straight and polished. It has optional dual mirrors, power antenna, door handle gaurds and fender rockets that light up! Love the tri-power emblems too. The rims are painted the dark red accent color and have the optional spinner hubcaps. Each one is wrapped with a reproduction BFG Silvertown whitewall.

INTERIOR: Beautiful inside- the quality and style. Down on the floor is real nice carpet and reproduction floor mats. The seats are rebuilt, they are firm and reupholstered. It has a rare manual 6 way adjustable seat, I've never seen one. The door panels are restored. The metal trim is painted. The dash area has excellent trim, gauges, knobs, steering wheel etc. The wonderbar radio was rebuilt with modern internals, it has FM and is XM satellite compatible. The original wonderbar radio was rebuilt with modern internals. Glovebox light works and includes the owner's manual. Mint cloth headliner with chrome ribs.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Big 347-290 hp tri-power engine. Completely restored and detailed to stock condition. It has the big air cleaner, Pontiac valve covers, and reproduction plug wires. Features include power steering, power brakes, electric wipers, washers, hood lamp and insulation. All the metal surfaces are painted smooth.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal painted smooth gloss white. Restored jack assembly is properly mounted. Restored matching rim and reproduction whitewall spare. Reproduction mat, decal, seat divider and weatherstrip. My favorite part is the retractable trunk light, every car should have one.

UNDERSIDE: Under this car is very clean. The metal floors, braces and rockers are solid metal. The frame and chassis components are smooth metal. Its all been given a tidy coat of satin black. It has the optional under seat heater system hooked up. The front end was rebuilt and recently given an alignment. Shocks were replaced. Stainless exhaust system with cross over pipe, welded joints and Magnaflow mufflers. Brakes were restored, hoses replaced, e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is like new. It has the 4-speed Hydramatic transmission.

With so much more to offer than a 57 Chevy why not pay less and get the better car? The restoration would cost much more than we are asking. This is a quality car that will give it's new owner a lot of joy.
