Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this two-owner 1992 Jaguar
XJS V12 for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. The XJS is a luxury
grand tourer produced by Jaguar from 1975 to 1996, based on the XJ
saloon platform it was noted for the unique prominent rear flying
buttresses with early styling drawn by Jaguars best aerodynamicist
Malcolm Sayer. With the brands marked improvement in build quality
and engineering, it became something of an instant classic.
Finished in Flamenco, the color really suits the shape and class of
the car. The paint looks even in color and coverage across every
panel. Each body panel on this XJS looks great. Shut lines and
panel gaps look good, moving panels sitting flush, and we didn't
observe any major dents or defects in the body. The chrome trim
around the car appears in great condition with no signs of pitting.
The glass looks great with no signs of cracks, chips, or
discoloration. This car has also been fitted with tinted rear brake
lights, and polished mirrors, both look to be in very good
condition. The front of the car also is de-chromed for a more
subtle look. The seats look good with some usual wear to the
driver's seat and a few minor creases in line with the age and
mileage, as you would expect. The cream carpets also look in line
with the age and mileage of the car, deep in pile, and the kick
plates look in good condition too. The top of the dashboard is in
very good condition - this car has clearly been looked after over
the years. The wood veneer dash also looks great across the
interior and gives the interior a luxurious touch. The dials,
switches and controls are in good condition, and all are said to be
functional. The classic XJS steering wheel looks in great
condition, along with the automatic gear selector and surrounding
area in line with the interior of the car. A 30-year production
life is a testimony to the rightness of its design, and it was a
big success. With independent, coil sprung suspension,
power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and disc brakes, its
ride/handling balance combined the best of both worlds. At the
XJS's heart sits a 5.3-litre engine, developing 282 bhp, allowing
for smooth motoring or more spirited progress if desired. Jaguar
built 161,996 cars powered by its magnificent V-12, among them
85,478 XJ-S and XJS models: 64,904 Coupes, 16,649 Convertibles and
3,925 Cabriolets. Perhaps it's those big numbers that have hidden
from us just how exceptional each one of these cars is. Call
