Vehicle Description
Cobra replicas are cool, but how about an even more unique
European-inspired design with a V8 at its heart? Take a good look
at this 1960 Austin Healey Sebring 5000 replica. Its fuel-injected
V8, four-wheel disc brakes, sports suspension, and plenty of
comfort features make this desirable for more than just its
retro-cool style.
The bold red instantly announces that this craftsman-style body has
a wild side. The paint's big gloss not only emphasizes the classic
British elegance but it also makes the most of the extra-wide
fender flares that come on the fiberglass body. There are great
vintage touches like the original Healey-inspired oval grille and
classic minilite-style wheels. But the wide tires, louvered hood,
and fender vent trim all signal plenty of added performance. It's a
cool style that never takes anything too seriously. So it's not
trying to be a real Healey or a museum piece. Instead, you get a
design that looks like an icon and an attitude for fun on the
road.
The interior shows how this replica upgrades the performance feel
while also adding comfort. For example, you have a full convertible
top and full windows for true weather protection. There's even a
nice boot cover for when the top is down. There's a premium style
with features like power windows, a Lokar shifter, a tilt steering
column, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and provisions for air conditioning (it
will need servicing to blow cold again.) This is also setup for a
true performance machine. You have a roll bar with support, toggle
switches, a detachable Momo steering wheel, and race-ready bucket
seats.
Under the hood is where the best upgrade is. Like a Shelby Cobra,
this Brit style gets a major power boost from a Ford V8. You have a
tidy 302 cubic-inch motor that looks awesome, filling every inch of
the diamond plate walled engine bay. It's built for power with an
MSD Atomic electronic fuel injection system and an Edelbrock
intake. There's also a serpentine belt system, aluminum radiator,
an electric fan, an MSD 6A ignition, and an Optima battery. It
fires up eagerly and makes a great sound out of the dual exhaust.
There are even cutouts if you want to bring the thunder. This has a
Mustang II-style front end, three-speed automatic transmission, a
four-link coilover rear, and four-wheel disc brakes for an
impressive list of sports car components you didn't get on the
original Healey.
This car is a special construction build done on a prior salvage
title. This is the kind of cool custom that gives you classic lines
but with the added power and easy-going style that lets you have
some fun. Call now!
