for purchase. The Fury was downsized to start the 3rd generation in
1962 which was an unpopular move. So the Fury was elongated each
year and 1964 sales saw significant improvement with the size and
new dramatic slanted roofline. The Fury was Plymouth's full-size
and sporty model that dealerships could put on display to attract
customers to their showrooms. The Fury was big, bold, and contained
the best features available.
The car featured here has had the frame connected and the springs
moved inboard. The pinion angle is set at negative 4 degrees and
has a Sox and Martin pinion snubber. It also has a DTS third member
with 3.91 gearing and a new surge grip unit. Other highlights
include Tranzact prepared A727 with pro manual valve body, Kevlar
durables, needle bearings. The car is powered by a healthy 493
cubic inch 440 V8 with Edelbrock heads, .509 hydraulic cam, Keith
Black HU pistons, Ackerly and Childs piston rings, Callies
crankshaft, CAT rods, Speed Pro main rod and cam bearinsg, Block is
align honed, true decked, sonic checked, honed with plates to
finish bore. Cloyes true roller timing gear set, High volume oil
pump, Miladon windage tray, pick and oil pan, Holley Street
Dominator intake, Quick fuel Technology 930 double pumper, Carter
competition pump and regulator, Mancini billet rear main saddle
with failsafe seal, MSD 6AL box, MSD competition distributor, MSD
coil and wires, Headers, Walker "Scat" 3 inch mufflers, aluminum
radiator, Mickey Thompson Drad radials, disc brakes.
