In commemoration of the original number of ZL1 CentralOffice
Production Order (COPO) Camaros made in 1969, Chevrolet relaunched
alimited run of 69 COPO Camaros in 2012 as factory drag racing cars
designed forNHRA Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes. This
beautiful, never-been-raced, 2012 Chevrolet Camaro COPO is
thereal-deal - a limited production car that is ready for drag
strip action and inbrand-new condition. This COPO racer is car
number 47 out of the mere 69 produced for the 2012 model year.
These cars are not street legal and were built by the factory to be
drag raced and are set up with the best indrag racing technology.
Based on the LSXblock, this Camaro features the 327 cubic-inch V8
engine with a Whipplesupercharger, 10.2:1 compression, and a fully
forged engine package thatincludes a set of LS7 cylinder heads and
special-cut hydraulic camshaft. This high horsepower powerplant was
assembledat GM's Performance Build Center, in Wixom, Michigan,
where the LS7 and LS9production engines for the Corvette Z06 and
Corvette ZR1 are built, along withsome of the most potent Chevrolet
Performance crate engines. To meet strict safety regulations to
competeat 9-second quarter-mile times, all COPOs come standard with
a solid rear axle,a full chromoly roll cage, removal of
sound-deadening and power accessories,two racing bucket seats (no
rear seat), a safety harness for the driver,competition floor
shifter, Chevrolet Performance gauges, Bogart racing wheelsand
Hoosier full-slick racing tires. Connectedto the Powerglide
performance two-speed automatic transmission is a Strangeaxle
stuffed with 4.10 rear gears to assist putting the massive power to
thepavement. Also included is a full-onrace ready Aeromotive fuel
system, lightweight suspension components, line-lockand the NHRA
mandated engine cutoff switch. These very special and very rare
