Vehicle Description
Iconic, collectible, and impressively low mileage - this 2001
Plymouth Prowler is a well-preserved and nicely-presented example
of one of the most distinctive new era classics to hit the
road.
This was the first year of Prowler Orange, and it was only
available for the final production years. So it already is quite
special even before you see how well it has been preserved.
Averaging under 650 miles annually so far, we bet this one only
came out of the garage for weekend pleasure drives. Plus, the body
panels have been treated with care, so the light rolls evenly
across all the curves - and this car has a ton of them! The slick
pointed front end, slingshot profile, and fully-rounded rear all
come together to create one of the coolest machines ever to come
with a factory warranty. Plus, this one has the right custom
touches. The front gray federal bumpers were removed (but still
come with the sale) and replaced with color-matched caps with
integrated turn signals which redefine the front end to give you a
clear view of the cycle fenders and that proper hot rod style. We
just love the look! There's also added shine from the polished
front suspension, chrome bezel accents, and the custom grille.
Inside is where this retro ride gets very modern. It's outfitted
with exceptionally comfortable dark charcoal gray buckets with the
special Prowler logo embossed on the backs. And with such low
mileage, you know there's barely a crease in the leather. It's
built to be a driver's car with a grippy sports steering wheel, a
tilt column, and the color-matched instrument panel dominating the
top of the dash with great white-faced gauges in place. And we
especially love how the column-mounted AutoMeter tach is a
factory-installed item that's a nod to the classic hot rod style.
And because Plymouth wanted to create the ultimate retro-cool
cruiser, they made sure to fill it with the best features, too. You
have a powerful AM/FM/cassette factory stereo w/CD changer, power
windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, cruise control, and dual
airbags. Plus, cold-blowing factory air conditioning means it's
easy to stay cool when open to the world. And the folding soft top
has the right feel of a well-engineered insulated unit to make the
Prowler feel good even when buttoned up.
When you lift the hood, the near spotless condition of this
numbers-matching motor reminds you of the respect this collectible
has received. The lightweight nature of the Prowler and an engine
over the early years means the 3.5-liter 24-valve V6's 253
horsepower moves this roadster quite nicely. It starts instantly
and idles smoothly thanks to a modern fuel injection kind of setup
that's as easy as a commuter. The four-speed automatic transmission
w/overdrive and power steering make this a fine anytime cruiser.
When you want a little more fun, the AutoStick has a manual mode
that will really open up the backroads. This lets you take full
advantage of the fully independent suspension, four-wheel disc
brakes with ABS, and the Prowler's near 50/50 weight
distribution.
The sale also comes with desirable pieces like the owner's manual
packet and the comprehensive dealer service manual. This is
everything you wanted in Prowler when new, and today this modern
classic is still that fresh. So don't miss out, call today!
