Vehicle Description
This is it; the end of the line for Chevy's full-sized
convertibles. The 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic was the last year
you could get a big, comfortable, and flashy Chevy in an attractive
ragtop package. So when one of these rare finale cars is available
in its awesome factory-correct triple-white, has its
numbers-matching 400ci V8, and was given the right driver upgrades
(like fuel injection), you know you're looking at a true gem that
was truly made to drive.
Triple-black is for muscle cars, but triple-white is high-society
cruising. So it's awesome to have such a significant Chevy where
the trim tag tells us it was born to be a full white sendoff to the
last of the big drop-tops.
It's unknown if the paint is the original application, but it has
the right touches of age where people will just assume it is
original. Plus, you have all the right classic details everywhere
from the rear fender skirts to the dealer tag on the rear.
Everything seems to be part of a well-coordinated look. The chrome
bumpers go with the headlight bezels and Rally wheels. And not only
does the full-length trim show off the good fit of the body panels,
but this also has a white insert for the extra touch of the white
glove treatment.
Beneath the well-fitting white roof is the white interior. So the
paint, top, and upholstery deliver the ultra-desirable triple-white
factory package.
But there are other colors that steal your attention inside, too.
There are smooth wood-like inserts in the dash, and the like blue
look tasteful in places like the smooth dash and plush carpeting.
Just like the exterior, the overall impression is a feeling of
originality - everywhere from the button-top seating to the
courtesy lights that greet you when the door opens. You can tell
they wanted this one to be authentic, right down to the details. At
the same time, they wanted to make sure it was a great cruiser. So
while the Delco AM/FM radio is on display, a newer AM/FM/CD stereo
with iPod input was mounted below it. And the factory air
conditioning now runs on modern R134a refrigerant (it likely just
needs a recharge to blow cold again.) And this loaded Caprice even
has terrific factory features like a tilt steering column, cruise
control, and a color-matched convertible boot. Plus, power windows
and a power convertible top means you don't have to leave the
driver's seat to open this up to the world.
Under the hood the numbers-matching 400 cubic-inch V8 presented in
an exceptionally original condition. The optional larger
small-block means this Caprice had an extra helping of power and
torque from the factory to move the luxury Chevy. It only gets
better on this example where there was a FAST electronic fuel
injection system to maximize the power and efficiency. Add in the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes,
and front discs, and this is a great cruising package that needs
nothing added, except for you behind the wheel.
The sale comes complete with the dealer invoice and owner's manual.
This is the last of the great big Chevy drop-tops. So hurry up
