Vehicle Description
This 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is an awesome custom build that
has a supercharger like a Hellcat, but the larger V8 and right
fortified enhancements mean it brings more power to the streets
than Mopar's factory kitty. And this fully built package also never
loses the loaded and comfortable feeling of a premium SRT-8. So you
can enjoy horsepower while sitting in A/C comfort.
Even without the ultra-hot motor currently in it, this is a pure
intimidation machine. The Challenger has a vintage cool package
formed around a body that's far beefier than the retro Mustangs and
Camaros out there. The Blue Pearl Metallic paint has an electric
level personality, and so this one certainly looks powered. The
boldness continues as this Challenger shows off its dark side with
the blackout grille, rear spoiler, and carbon fiber style stripes
that highlight the dual-scoop hood. And the Forgestar Wheels add to
the mean darkness while also highlighting the small tire style
setup with proper Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials in the
rear. The car has averaged about 4,500 miles annually thus far, and
it's been driven with respect. So it has the right look of a clean
coupe, but not a museum piece. In fact, this hints at how the big
power upgrades don't take away from the overall drivability of this
muscle Mopar.
The color theme switches for the inside. Black is the main color,
but the blue returns as a tasteful streak on the seatbacks. In
fact, speaking of the seats, the leather buckets with suede-like
inserts are an SRT specialty that knows how to hug your body. This
is a loaded modern sports car with all the features you could want,
including a power driver's seat, heated seats, power windows, power
locks, keyless entry/ignition, cruise control, power steering, a
tilt/telescopic steering column, dual airbags, cold-blowing air
conditioning, and a power sunroof. The stereo is a premium
touchscreen infotainment unit that includes satellite navigation, a
USB input, and modern stereo speakers with Kicker subwoofer.
Under the hood is a Hemi V8 with a Kenne Bell Mammoth supercharger
on top. This is stated to be a 426ci/7.0-liter unit built by
Spankin Time Motorsports about 1,800 miles ago. Not only is that 12
percent larger than the Hellcat powerhouse, but this is also a
fully forged build that features CNC heads, 1000cc ID injectors,
and long tube headers. The full package is stated to make about 850
horsepower at the crank and 750 at the rear wheels. With that kind
of muscle, they also made sure to fortify the TR 6060 six-speed
manual transmission with a McLeod flywheel and twin-disk clutch.
The fully independent suspension has been upgraded with KW
coilovers, Hotchkiss sway bars, and added bracing. Plus, the big
Brembo four-wheel power disc brakes with slotted rotors give you
confident stopping power.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and build receipts.
