Vehicle Description
The two-tone style, powerful LS2 V8, and loaded interior all make
this 2006 Chevrolet SSR Pace Car an awesome ride. And the folding
hardtop reminds you that this is both the coolest coupe and
convertible out there. So you are already attracted to this
low-mileage modern classic even before you see that it's a rare 1
of 45 official cars used for driver introductions at the 2005
Allstate 400.
We know this is an instant classic because of its rarity. Being an
official parade car for the Brickyard 400 puts this in quite
exclusive company. But there are also other rare numbers to
consider. This two-tone was an optional extra on the SSR, and so
it's believed there are only about 240 done in Smokin Asphalt and
Ricochet Silver for 2006 - the SSR's final year. And this instant
collectability is why this one has been treated like a true
collectible that has averaged only about 1,100 miles annually.
These SSRs defined retro-cool with a look that was inspired by the
rounded fender Advance Design pickups of the '40s and '50s. This
even has running boards for a true classic/cool look. But the style
is streamlined and taken into the modern era. This attention to
aerodynamic detail is seen in the way the hardtop disappears
without almost any trace, and the bed has a flush-fitting locking
tonneau both stylish and secure. Plus, the finish has a terrific
shine to show off this sleekness. Of course, your favorite part of
the paint might just be the Indianapolis Motor Speedway decals on
top that this SSR genuinely earned!
The black leather interior is an exceptionally preserved luxury
package on this low-mileage SSR. There are even added polished
pieces to make this look as attractive as formalwear. And more than
just look great; this feels great. You have dual leather bucket
seats that individually adjust to the ideal position (the driver
even has a memory function.) Plus, there are power windows, power
locks, power mirrors, cruise control, keyless entry/alarm, front
airbags, side airbags, power steering, and a premium AM/FM/CD
stereo with Bose speakers. And we particularly like that there's
both cold-bowing air conditioning and heated seats. So you and your
passenger can get comfortable with the top-down no matter if it's
noon in the summer or a crisp fall evening.
Another advantage of a final-year SSR is that it has the later V8
upgrade. The 6.0-liter LS2 is a fuel-injected powerhouse that
offered a healthy boost in power to 390 hp. This has an
exceptionally stock style, which further reinforces the low mileage
look on the numbers-matching powerhouse. It has been given good
care and maintenance, including the right investments for a strong
driver. This includes an upgraded fan and a four-bolt crossmember.
So we know you'll want to add to the low odometer. The four-speed
automatic transmission is the ideal balance of quick kick-downs
into power and easy shifts into overdrive cruising. They even built
these like a sports car with tubular control arms on the rear
suspension, sway bars front & rear, and four-wheel power disc
brakes with ABS.
The sale comes complete with some terrific documents, like a
reproduction window sticker signed by Jeff Green, owner's manual
packet, maintenance records, and a framed plaque of the car and a
piece of the speedway. This is the final-year SSR with
collector-grade rarity and collector-grade preservation. Call
