This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 all dressed in green and black is one
of the meanest-looking street machines of all times. Of course,
it's only better when you get to take full control of this
fastback's enhanced V8 thanks to four-on-the-floor.
This was the year of the performance pony. The 1969 Mustang had
revised styling to maximize the intimidation, and it's also the
debut year of the Mach 1 - a premium package that also added plenty
of aggression. This one impresses with a high-quality respray of
its factory-correct Black Jade. The dark green has a great glow in
the sunshine, and the factory-correct blackout hood was a racing
touch designed to reduce glare for the driver. Plus, the dark green
really lets you see the golden Mach 1 side stripes and the halo
highlighting the ducktail rear deck. This Mustang gets all the
aggressive details right with the racing-style chin spoiler, hood
scoop, competition-style American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, and
quad exhaust tips. It's a total package for those who like striking
and intimidating fastbacks.
The Mach 1 package was about being both sporty and premium. This
feeling starts with the high-back bucket seats. They have the
correct comfort-weave inserts, and we love how the aggressive red
streak in the seatbacks coordinates with the floor mats. This
upholstery combines with the door panels dash, carpet, and
headliner to deliver a clean and well-done look in the
fundamentals. It's the kind of details you can appreciate, right
down to the working courtesy lights. Plus, with the wood-rimmed
steering wheel and Hurst shifter poking out of the center console,
you know this is a driver's Mustang. There's even a hood-mounted
tach!
The engine bay has the clean look of proper pony car power. It's a
well-done presentation with the bold blue block radiating from
within the tidy darkness, and the long Mustang air grabber goes
with the ribbed valve covers. This is Ford's mighty 351 cubic-inch
V8, and it inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. And
you're going to love the sound and power that comes from the long
tube headers that feed an upgraded H-pipe dual exhaust. Best of
all, you have complete control thanks to the four-speed manual
transmission. Power steering, a thick front sway bar, wide modern
tires, and front disc brakes all come together to give you a solid
feeling on the road.
This is the kind of classic Mustang that makes people love a true
performance pony. So if you want to be admired at the next car
show, you need to call today for this Mach 1!
