Vehicle Description
With a serious 427 stroker motor, a five-speed manual, and full
sports suspension, this 1965 Shelby Cobra Factory Five is a true
driver's Cobra. But this ultra-low mileage fresh build also gives
you a show-ready level of style and cool/classic details - right
down to the racing wheels with knock-off hubs. It makes for the
kind of total package for when your track day also comes with a
concours.

Ivy Green Metallic is a terrific 1966 Mustang color that represents
the era perfectly. It's an attractive way to stand out in a crowd
while still respecting the heritage of the era. Since it's a fresh
clearcoat application, there's under 100 miles on the full build,
the finish has a terrific luster that lets the light dance off the
body as it highlights the aggressively flared fenders, large hood
scoop, and all the other curves you love on an iconic Cobra with
distinction. This is a darker color than you often see on a Cobra,
and it sets the tone nicely to harmonize with the black performance
pieces. This includes the side pipes, quick-jack bumpers, and a
roll hoop. It makes for a mean and sporty machine. Factory Five
cars have a nice build quality that really gets you in touch with
the classic 427 Cobra feeling. And this one is especially faithful
with details like the 17-inch Halibrand-style wheels with proper
knock-off hubs.

The low mileage means the interior is also especially fresh
everywhere you look and feel, right down to the plushness of the
carpeting. It gets that true classic competition Cobra feeling done
correctly with low-back bucket seats, Simpson racing harnesses,
Classic Instruments readouts, and a grippy factory five wood-rimmed
steering wheel. And there are plenty of the best in vintage
details, like the toggle switches and side wind wings. But this
quality build also likes to have the right touch of cruiser style.
And so you have JVC speakers mounted in the rear, and the sale even
comes with a modern AM/FM/CD head unit with USB input and
Bluetooth.

The engine bay has the classic Cobra ribbed valve covers, hallmark
long Cobra air grabber, and the ultra-tidy setup to really let you
showcase it all. And while the 427 callouts aren't lying, this one
gets Ford's magic displacement in an interesting way. It's a
professionally-built Dart Windsor small block that was stroked to
427 total. So you have a strong setup that gives you big block
displacement in a small block weight. The motor was built in 2020,
and it's an enhanced and fortified setup with forged pistons, a
roller camshaft, roller rockers, Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum
heads, a Weiand aluminum intake, and topped with a Quick Fuel 750
four-barrel carburetor. It also has the right supporting
components, like an aluminum radiator with electric fan, a Mallory
ignition, and Optima red top battery mounted in the rear. And the
BBK shorty headers feed those side pipes to let this mighty V8
exhale freely with an impressive growl. Best of all, you are in
full control of it all with the Tremec five-speed manual
transmission. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll be
reminded of how fresh this build is over every inch. And just like
the rest of the car you even love the details, like the Koni
adjustable shocks and four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and
slotted rotors.
