Vehicle Description
2002 Harley Davidson Ultra Glide Trike
The Tri Glide Ultra Classic was the first three-wheeled motorcycle
produced by Harley-Davidson since the Harley-Davidson Servi-Car,
which was manufactured from 1932 to 1973. The Tri Glide is based on
the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic, a conventional
two-wheeled touring motorcycle. Harley-Davidson entered into an
agreement in 2008 with Lehman Trikes of Spearfish, South Dakota to
provide parts and "conversion services", and final assembly of the
Tri Glides was initially completed at Lehman's facility.
For consignment a 3 wheeled motorcycle which at first was popular
with more mature riders, and women, now has come to have many
realize the advantages in the three wheeled bike, and popularity
has soared! With a 5-speed manual and optional electric reverse,
it's an easy rider with the long front forks but not the ape
hangers of yore. It is also includes a 105th Anniversary tour pack,
a spare seat back, and a bear fur seat cover along with other spare
parts and accessories.
The Trike:
With this trike, and its big overstuffed Mustang Ultra Regal black
leather seats you can go in for the long haul in comfort and do not
have to fret about putting your foot down when coming to a stop.
Beautiful Luxury Blue with Silver Metallic accenting covers the
front cowl, (batwing shaped), that has a small windshield on top.
It cradles the headlight and single running lights on either side.
Chromed Tri Glide forks move downward to the front wheel to support
the turn signals and a nicely shaped and colored front fender is
between the forks. The front blackwall tire is wrapping a factory
front wheel with dual outboard disc brake. In back we have the two
split wheels that are belt driven through a differential. These
rear wheels are also polished AR and are just pristine. A large
rear fender covers the wheels, protects the riders from splash from
the rear tires, and has some rear lighting for extra visibility. On
top of this large "fender" is a plastic molded factory storage box
and compartment down low opens for more cargo capacity. The fuel
tank is teardrop shaped from metal and is two tone Luxury Blue and
Silver Metallic.
The Power:
Within the confines of the solid black steel tubular frame is a
gleaming V-twin engine now with a big bore kit displacing 95ci and
making a consignor estimated 90hp. Dual 1bbl carbs, finely tuned by
our consignor with exact pilot jetting and Sportster Jet needles
and an electronic reverse is available to make the backup even
easier. Electric start is effortless. A 5-speed manual transmission
allows for nice acceleration, as well as a smooth fuel-efficient
cruise. Our consignor has also installed a 27-tooth engine sprocket
and 78 link primary chain to lower cruising rpms but without losing
power. Larger SE air cleaners are on the carbs and perfecting the
exhale are Vance & Hines Tru-Duals and 2.25" baffles by Rush. The V
twin is air cooled and just gleams with pride within that
frame.
The Comforts:
Of course the overstuffed padded leather black buttoned Mustang
seats which cascade downward towards the fuel tank and allow for
perfect center of gravity for two are pure comfort for your
posterior. Within the front cowling is a large speedometer and
tachometer. Other necessary gauges in smaller round form are
flanking the instruments in the center, and a flush mounted
AM/FM/Cassette radio is neatly mounted. Your hands are kept busy
with the throttle and various other handlebar controls.
The Structure:
Tubular steel framing throughout is strong and rust free. Dual disc
brakes are up front, and a telescoping fork/hydraulic shock setup
is in there to support it. On the back, an independent coil overs
and a belt drive push the bike forward effortlessly. Disc brakes
are here too.
The Summation:
This is one beautiful and well cared for trike based on a Harley
Davidson. Paint and body have no scratches, no accidents, and in
near mint condition. 85K miles, and still showroom quality all
around. Here's your chance to hit the open road in the open air and
open her up for some thrills for you and your passenger. I say
cross country, blue highways are in your future, and William Least
Heat Moon couldn't have been that far off! (Think "Zen, and the Art
of Motorcycle Maintenance")
