This is a #s match 427 tri-power right out of California. Has NCRS
shipping report, sold new to Earl Hayes Chevrolet, Dallas TX. Just
finished a body off frame restoration.
EXTERIOR: The body is in excellent shape. The raised hood lets you
know there's a 427 lurking under the hood. I did not see any
repairs or damage. The gaps are exceptional. Repainted original
Silverstone color. The metal flake is laid out evenly and has a
glossy finish. In front the chrome is shiny and fits nice. It still
has the weathershields protecting the headlights. The chrome is
back sparkles too. New windshield. The chrome and stainless around
the windshield was restored. Correct antenna. New black convertible
top. It has the optional deluxe hubcaps and radial tires.
INTERIOR: Everything works. Original Am-Fm radio was sent out and
rebuilt, clock was rebuilt, new heater control panel. Overall very
good condition. Combination of new and original. Dash pad, door
panels look great. Seats look great. Carpet was replaced. Correct
reverse lockout shifter.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s match 427-400 hp big block tri-power.
Casting dates, codes and matching vin. The engine was
professionally rebuilt. Carbs were sent to Seattle to be restored.
Restored to factory specs except for period correct valve covers
that have been restored. It has factory manifolds, ignition
shielding and even smog equipment. Radiator was recored,
reproduction hoses and clamps. Many new or rebuilt parts-
alternater, vacuum cans, hood latches etc. It's a detailed
compartment.
UNDERSIDE: Body off frame restored. Completely rebuilt and detailed
to brand new condition. Pristine California vin # matching frame
and the chassis components were powder coated. The front end and
suspension looks entirely new, including steering components,
bushings, ball joints, springs, and upgraded gas shocks. The rear
independent suspension is also completely restored, with new
bushings, spring, and shocks. There is new dual exhaust with
correct chrome tips going out through the valance. 4 wheel disc
brake system is 100% restored, all of the hoses, lines, and e-brake
assembly were replaced. The fiberglass floors and spare tire
carrier are mint. Looking up at the motor it is a spotless chevy
orange. The motor mounts, fuel pump, and starter look new. Vin
number matching Muncie M-21 4 speed transmission. It was apart,
inspected and resealed. New clutch, pressure plate, throw out
bearing and resurfased flywheel. #s match 3.55 posi rear was
serviced.
Investment grade Corvette. Fresh restoration, #s match and very
desirable 427 tri-power. It's also a whole lot more fun than stocks
and bonds!
