Vehicle Description
1988 Dodge D150 Pickup Truck - One Owner - 16k Original Miles -
Original 5.9L V8 - Column Shifted Automatic - 100 Percent Stock -
Build Sheet - Collector Grade Example When you think of the of the
true purpose of a truck; a vessel someone in the trades drives to
the job site and then completes their job out of every day, it is a
wonder you see any over the age of 5-10 years. Farmers, carpenters,
plumbers, the whole lot of hard-working trades people have relied
on trucks to work as hard as they do. Anyone who works with tools
for a living knows that you must maintain these extensions of your
hands, or they will fail you and you cannot do your job. Trucks are
like that too for trades folks. Let your truck fall into disrepair
and you cannot get to work, and you do not get paid. So, it makes
sense a lot of great trucks after being retired, comeback as great
custom trucks, which we have many examples of here at Garage Kept
Motors. These works trucks might be a little beat up but have good
bones, they have been well maintained but perhaps need a new
drivetrain or interior after being the owner's mobile office for
its lifetime. They make a great canvas for a resto-mod, too beat up
to restore, but solid enough to build a street rod out of. But that
is not the case with the truck featured here! This truck appears to
never seen a job site or tools in the bed. It is so clean and well
preserved it is not even a candidate for restoration, simply
purchase, continue to preserve, and collect. This truck is a true
rarity, it is a one owner vehicle with only 16,000 miles on the
odometer. It is an all-original truck that clearly has never really
worked a day in its lifetime. It comes complete with the original
build sheet, factory owner's manuals and related glovebox
materials. The original 25-year-old two tone paint, Dark with
Medium Suede finish with clear coat has some light patina on the
flat surfaces and a few chips but otherwise has been very well
maintained and presents with a rich luster. Likewise, the body
stainless and related chrome has been lovingly cared for and shines
with a rich shine. No dings or dents from life on the job on this
truck's body, which does not appear to have any indications of rust
or accident repair. The truck bed is clean with light scratches but
no dents or related damage and frankly it does not appear anything
has every been hauled in it. Other options include sliding rear
window, 6 x 9 rear side mounted rear-view mirrors and aluminum
running boards. Underneath, the truck is very clean. Original
factory stamps and tags still present on the chassis. The underbody
has been well maintained and is free of any rust through. The
exhaust appears factory original complete with all the correct heat
shields in place and features the optional 30-gallon tank. Under
the hood sits a 360cid V8 with 4bbl carburetor. The engine
compartment presents as clean and original showing little age since
it left the factory. Options include power steering and power front
disc brakes and heavy duty 74-amp alternator. Power is transferred
through a three-speed automatic transmission to a 3.5:1 rear gear
differential. Inside this truck is well optioned with air
conditioning, tilt steering, cruise control, intermittent wipers,
power windows, power locks and AM/FM/Cassette tape player. The
deluxe cloth and vinyl bench seat and carpet show little if any
wear. No smoking or pets in this interior and we are suspecting
eating and drinking may also have been banned in this truck's
cabin. This truck is very well preserved and an excellent candidate
to be collected and further preserved. Please call if interested or
e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
