Carolina Muscle Cars has acquired this very special one of a kind
1977 Corvette "Convertible" with only 5476 miles!
This one of kind car was built by American customs in Toledo Ohio.
It was listed as the "Duntov Prototype" according to previous
article included with the sale. It was believed that this strongly
built convertible was the basis for Duntov Turbo cars of 1980.
Please review the history of this car in the photos below. We would
also love any more information that someone may have on this
special Corvette.
The following was written by Mike Stowe, the owner of the car since
1979!
"In 1978 a company in Toledo, Ohio
in the custom car business bought a left-over 1977 Corvette coupe.
It was their idea to see if they could cut the top off and install
a 1975 rear clip and still have the car be strong enough. The car
turned out to be strong enough! The concept "Zora-Argus Duntov
Corvette "was born. They later used 1980 corvettes to make the new
cars.
I have owned this car since 1979 and never really driven it much.
The car now has just over 5,000 miles. It has been used in many
shows including as a courtesy car for Zora-Argus Duntov and his
wife Elfi at the 1982 St.Ignace spring car show. It was also used
in the 50' anniversary of the Mackinaw Bridge celebration. They had
a convertible from each of the 50 years and we were lucky to be in
the front row as all 50 cars came over the bridge 4 abreast. What
an honor!
The car is well equipped with all the power options. It has a red
exterior with a black top and a black interior. Nothing has been
done to the car since I acquired it except for stainless steel
exhaust and stainless steel brakes. It even has the same Goodyear
poly-steel radial tires. " -Mike Stowe
The car is an all original car with 5,476 Actual miles from new.
The car is an absolute time capsule. It looks, smells and drives
like a new car.

Photos of Zora Duntov with car
We have no idea what this special Corvette is worth. It could be
worth way more then our asking price. We know that it has amazing
history and there are articles labeling the car as the "Duntov
Turbo Prototype". The car was invited to some important car shows
in Michigan honoring Bill Mitchell. Zora Dontov has been to the
same shows with the car and has personally used this car. This car
is truly a one of kind Corvette and has a special place in a
Corvette Collection.
