1998 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The fourth generation of Camaro was
produced from 1993 until 2002 and utilized plastic body panels and
a steel space frame to greatly reduce weight compared to the heavy
third generation car. They also implemented a better suspension
system with a rear torque arm setup to allow them to corner
significantly better. The power plant for cars built from 1993-1997
was the LT1 which still used a traditional small block Chevrolet
architecture. New for 1998 was the introduction of the LS1 first
seen in the Corvette. This all-aluminum engine weighed
significantly less and produced more horsepower than the outgoing
LT1. The 1998-2002 examples are the pinnacle of performance for the
4 th generation Camaro. This 1998 Chevrolet Camaro SS was sold new
at Tom Hesser Chevrolet in Scranton, Pennsylvania to its original
owner. Powered by the 5.7L LS1 transfers power to a 6-speed manual
transmission with a Hurst shifter. This example was factory ordered
