Vehicle Description
Right here is an exceptionally striking 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. For
1979, the body of the Firebird was completely restyled. This
restyle featuring a new aerodynamic front end, revised rear end
spoiler, bulkier flares for the Trans Am, and a revised connected
single taillight assembly. The grilles had been repositioned to the
lower section of the front bumper to allow more cold air to
directly travel to the lower part of the radiator and engine bay.
The interior remained mostly unchanged to the previous model year,
however the deluxe cloth interior had now changed from velour to a
Hobnail pattern. The hood decal from an option in 1978 became the
standard design across the entire Trans Am line and now came in a
variety of colors. This yellow 'bird is fitted with the largest
engine Pontiac offered for 1979, an Oldsmobile-built 403 C.I. V8
with a 4-barrel carburetor. That power is connected to the rear
wheels through a 3-speed 'Turbo Hydra-Matic 350" automatic
transmission. The interior is completely original aside from an
updated Pioneer AM/FM radio, and the black "Hobnail Cloth" seats
are in great shape. The exterior "Sundance Yellow" paint has been
repainted with new decals to match during its cosmetic restoration!
This here is one sharp looking classic that is ready to get back
out on the road.
