This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a factory red car
inside and out, and it's believed to have lived a well-respected
three-owner life thus far. It even has its numbers-matching V8 and
transmission. And as you look at the full package, you'll see a
terrific vintage attitude with the right investments added to make
for a good all-around classic.
Red always looks terrific on a convertible, and the trim tag tells
us this is a factory Mille Miglia Red car. So you get the pride of
correctness, and since it has a driver-quality presentation, many
people will admire it at the intersections without making you too
nervous to enjoy it in-between the stoplights. After all, America's
sports car was made for driving fun. And you can really recognize
investments in details like the good window seals and bright
chrome. And speaking of brightwork, the '72 has plenty of it. The
shine has a clean but classic appearance on the shark-like front
bumper, two-piece rear bumper, rocker panels, window trim, and
Rally wheels. Plus, you get to choose between a folding soft top
and a vinyl-wrapped hardtop both in an attractive black.
While both tops look attractive, we all know you're going to want
to drive with no roof at all. And the factory-correct interior
means this was born a red-blooded American inside and out! The
fundamentals like the upholstery, carpeting, dash, and door panels
have a clean and deep red appearance. It's an overall attractive
presentation, right down to the working courtesy light. This gets
you ready for a driver's car, especially with all the right
details. That means a grippy three-spoke sports steering wheel, a
tilt/telescopic column, a large speedo and tach directly in front
of it, and auxiliary readouts at eye level. It's also loaded with
great features, like power windows, the Delco AM/FM stereo, and
factory-style air conditioning (it's upgraded to R134a but it will
need servicing to blow cold again.)
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8. It has a
bright block, polished air grabber, finned valve covers, and an
overall tidy look of good care. It inhales deeply with a
four-barrel carburetor and makes a nice rumble exhaling from the
dual exhaust. And the TH400 three-speed transmission is the right
mix of stout construction and easy automatic shifting. So this is a
terrific drop-top cruiser. Plus, you have power steering,
four-wheel power disc brakes, and a fully independent suspension
for true driving fun.
A nicely-presented Corvette like this means nice paperwork, too.
The sale includes a reproduction window sticker, owner's manual,
and service manuals. When a great driver is also a solid all-around
classic, you know you need it in your garage. Call today!!!
