This 1950 Anglia “English Ford” is a great example of the days gone by, when Willy’s and Anglia’s dominated the drag strips in the 1960’s, providing excitement for both the spectators in the grandstands and for the drivers in the cockpit. Anglia’s were one of the fan’s favorites, and remain memorable collectibles today. This little baby has been built for strip or street with a 350 “stroked” to 383 cu. in., Crane Camshaft, Arias Pistons, GMC 671 Super Charger, Balanced & Blueprinted, heads polished and ported 2.02 by Gromm’s Racing Service, with pinned roller rockers. Backed by a 700 R4-speed transmission with overdrive she drives smooth as silk. All this sits on a custom frame with MGB coil overs, disc brakes, and 14 inch front custom wheels, with a Jaguar modified, with custom Anglia rear end retainer out back, with center disc, calipers and 15 inch custom wheels. All metal body & hood, filled top and 2 inch extended rear fiberglass fenders. The exterior wears a coat of red paint that presents itself nicely, along with subtle pin stripping. Inside find a grey velour with dark grey carpet, bucket seats, compact aftermarket steering wheel, A/C set up for a comfortable ride, and roll bar, just in case. The centerpiece of the cockpit is a hand fabricated console with billet dash and Stewart Warner gauges (oil, amp, fuel, temp, clock, & speedo), and AM/FM stereo cassette.
