raw, 1964 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe is a real neck-snapper. A
raked look with a short nose, long body lines and absolutely
stunning black paint.
Under the hood sits what every Impala enthusiast hopes to see. A
polished chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers dress up the
numbers matching QB-code, dual-quad 409 engine! The 409 was such a
phenomenon that there are songs about it! Photos of the partial VIN
stamping, date code, and suffix code can be seen on our site. It is
believed to be only 30K original miles per the seller, and the
history he knows of the vehicle.
The factory-delete side mirrors support the assumption that this
Impala was ordered strictly for stop light to stop light fun. All
original trim, all original chrome, all original sheet metal and
all original equipment make this car a true survivor. The glass is
all original except for driver's side window which was cracked and
replaced. The trunk is nicely finished off, clean and simple in its
factory form. This Impala is completely rust-free. It is as solid
as they come, and straight as can be.
Pictures do not do this car justice. Receipts, invoices and
documentation dating back to 1991 when the car received a cosmetic
restoration including a paint job. The car also received a complete
engine rebuild at that time. Base Impala dual quad 409 cars are
practically non-existent, as very few QB-Code optioned Impalas in
1964 were of the non-SS variety. Almost anyone who could afford the
dual-quad engine option back in 1964 automatically opted for the SS
trim package as well. You won't find another one like it! That
rarity, documentation, and condition make this a true collector
piece for any Chevrolet or high horsepower collector! Don't wait on
this Impala, or someone else will add it to their collection.
Engine was rebuilt and balanced by NHRA world champion drag racer
and engine builder Steve Carbone. It is correct from the air
cleaner to the oil pan. Runs amazing and is very fast. Backed by a
close ratio 4 speed and 410 posi traction rear diff. Comes with
receipts from the restoration.
