For Sale: 2002 Chevrolet Camaro in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

The 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS 35TH Anniversary SLP Edition is a special kind of car. This was the year that it looked like Chevy was going to permanently close the book on the Camaro, and in fact, they did end many of its traditions. There were a select few who recognized this, and that's why on a rare occasion we see a collector-grade example with this level of preservation.

Bright Red wasn't a new addition to the Camaro color palette in 2002, but there still aren't any better colors for your high-visibility special edition cars. The only thing bolder is the set of racing stripes that form checkered flag graphics. It all continues to look exceptional today because this example has only been driven a little over 13k miles. So it has done about the same in the last 20 years as a suburban commuter achieves in one. The crisp and clean style lets you see the special SLP Super Sport pieces crisply. This includes the ram air hood scoop, upgraded 17-inch alloys, and the unique rear spoiler. Plus, we all love the look of the center-exit dual exhaust, and it even helps with adding extra power. The headlights and turn signals are crystal clear and the center of the front grill has been fully color-matched, including the stripes, and we love the look.

The two-tone leather interior gives the car a sophisticated tone, especially when you have such low mileage (i.e. less use) that keeps it looking inviting. It's also loaded with the best features like a power driver's seat, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, cruise control, dual airbags, T-tops, and a fantastic Monsoon stereo system. And the air conditioning is blowing nice and cold to let you take the roof panels out in the summertime. As a special edition car, you also have the 35th Anniversary badge embroidered in the headrests, floor mats, and parcel shelf mat. There's even an extra set still in the plastic for the proper collector-grade appearance.

Z/28 and SS Camaros received the Corvette's LS1 engine, and this is what makes an SLP car like this so interesting. The Camaros were under-tuned so that they would not overtake the Corvette. However, this example looks like it has SLP's upgraded intake and exhaust, which gets it exceptionally close to the C5 with its 345 horsepower. The four-speed automatic is a good pairing for those who like to have a stout transmission that can also cruise on the highway. And features like the upgraded SLP suspension, Bilstein shocks, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes with ABS make for the kind of package that will happily have you adding miles to the low odometer.

The sale comes complete with the original window sticker, owner's manual packet, a spare key with fob, and more. This car has been preserved for two decades by those who knew how special it was from day one. If you're ready to continue that legacy, call today!
