Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1993 Acura NSX for
sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. This all original NSX is a fighter
jet for the road! The intention in creating the Acura NSX was to
produce a hand-built, exotic, mid-engine sports car that would
establish entirely new levels of performance, refinement,
driveability and reliability. The NSX is designed to represent an
entirely new definition of the exotic sports car. Only 194 Black on
Black NSX were produced in 93. The design and materials used on the
NSX was revolutionary and introduced many industry 'firsts' for the
production car market. It was the first production car to use
titanium connecting rods, six in total. The body and chassis were
comprised of aluminum, weighing just over 460 pounds, much less
than steel but with equal strength. The aluminum body housed many
advanced technologies such as PGM-FI, Variable Valve Timing and
Lift Electronic Control (VTEC), and a direct ignition system. The
3-liter DOHC V-6 engine was mounted mid-ship and matted to a
five-speed manual gearbox. With 270 horsepower and 210 foot-pounds
of torque, zero-to-sixty was accomplished in under six seconds. The
object was to create an interior that was the sports car equivalent
of a jet fighter pilot's helmet. The key elements of this concept
were unlimited visibility, a feeling of snugness or intimacy with
the interior of the vehicle, and the sense that the cockpit and
driver were out in the airstream rather than enclosed and isolated
from the environment. The instrument faces are round with white
numerals on a black background. The instrument panel is dominated
by the tachometer on the left and the speedometer on the right. To
the left of the tach are the smaller water temperature and oil
pressure gauges. To the right of the speedometer are the fuel gauge
and voltmeter. The Acura/Bose Music System's speakers are precisely
aimed so that the pressure wave of the speaker closest to each
occupant doesn't overpower the pressure wave from the speaker which
is farthest away. This produces a balanced sound from each speaker
and the net result is true stereo performance. The AM/FM stereo
cassette features Dolby, Dynamic Noise Reduction, and an PM
diversity antenna system. The NSX is painted in a 27-step paint
process, including an aircraft-type chromate coating designed for
use with aluminum. A new water-borne paint for the base coat was
developed to achieve a clearer, more vivid color and a smoother
surface finish. The black exterior paint is in great shape with a
few small rock chips due to being in Arizona. Legend has it that
the Acura NSX was the result of a drunken night of passion between
a Ferrari 348 and a Honda Accord. Inheriting the best of both of
its parents, the 90s NSX is an exceedingly rare breed today,
especially ones of this health and cleanliness. Those who'd like to
own this highly collectible piece of automotive mythology will want
to act fast. Call us today, this beauty won't last long,
