The second generation MX-5 (NB2) was introduced for the model year
1998. This Gen2 Miata boasted new styling, a more refined interior
and increased performance. An update for the 2001 model added even
more horsepower to the 1.8L engine by incorporating VVT
(variable-valve timing) technology. This all-original, immaculate
2001 Mazda LS is a classic MX-5. The original rare Crystal Blue
finish is virtually flawless and is accented by fog lights, a
modest rear spoiler and distinctive factory alloy wheels that mount
Ironman performance radials. The tasteful Saddle Tan leather
interior is in excellent condition as is the matching manually
operated soft-top. Convenience features include cold A/C, power
locks, keyless entry, power tinted windows, power mirrors and power
trunk. This Miata is also equipped with cruise control and a
premium Bose AM/FM/CD system. Dual front airbags and seat belt
'pre-tensioners' provide an extra measure of safety. The MX-5 is
powered by Mazda's 1.8L 4-cylinder, 16v dual-overhead cam engine.
The 2001 model with VVT produces 142bhp and power is delivered
through a rare optional 6-speed manual gearbox, also new for 2001.
The chassis is equipped with close-ratio power steering and 4-wheel
anti-lock power disc brakes. The front suspension features a double
wishbone design and the rear utilizes a 5-link set-up. It appears
that this Miata was also factory optioned with the MX-5 Suspension
Package that included performance shock absorbers, Torsen limited
slip differential and front strut tower brace. A recent clean
AutoCheck report is included with the car. This sweet Crystal Blue
MX-5 will soon move to a new garage - act post-haste. ALL VEHICLES
SOLD "AS IS".
