Welcome to Street Dreams as we embark on our 24th year in the
classic and muscle car business. Volkswagen's Type 2, often called
the Microbus in the U.S., was a forward control light vehicle that
was the progenitor of today's passenger and commercial vans.
Technically, the current T6 is the successor of the Type 2, but
most enthusiasts regard the 1950-1978 air-cooled models as true
Microbuses. The forward control design, placing the driver directly
over the front axle, allowed an impressively large interior volume
within a 94.5 wheelbase. To illustrate, 9 people can sit in some
versions of a vehicle that has a 2 SHORTER wheelbase than the
current Porsche 911! Our cheerful custom 1972 VW Type 2 can't carry
9 people, but this amazing little buggy is cooler than the other
side of the pillow and attracts more attention than Lady Godiva!
Powered by a later 2.0L engine (EP GE), this cruiser runs and
drives beautifully, with the unique exhaust tone that only an
air-cooled VW can generate. Additional features include a 4-speed
manual transmission, T1-style pop-out split windshield and front
fascia, pop-out rear glass, custom interior, and 195/60R15 tires
mounted on classic EMPI alloy wheels. An absolute hoot to drive,
this custom is ideal for parades, cruising the ranch with friends,
or taking in a car show. If a classic VW with a sunny disposition
appeals to you, call the team that can make your dream a reality.
