This 1952 MG TD is an exceptional example of great hand-built
craftsmanship that was built to let you go out and find many new
favorite roads.
An MG TD represents the old-world style of craftsmanship. There was
a lot of Detroit iron being produced in the 1950s, but this
roadster's body is proudly supported by ash wood. And because this
MG is already a standout, it doesn't need a boisterous color,
that's why we love the sophisticated Woodland Green. It has a
terrific sense of style where there's a good gloss but plenty of
aged maturity you want in a true classic like this. Even on a car
this small, they left room for a touch of flair. Lucas tri-bar
headlights, bright chrome bumpers, an added luggage rack, and long
flowing fenders. These cool little roadsters are best for sunny day
outings, but if the weather does turn wet, this one has you
covered. Not only do you get the tan convertible top, but this also
comes with the full side curtain package to help keep you dry all
the way home.
Because the tan roof looks so good against the dark green paint,
we're glad to see a similar color combo when this road is open to
the world. The door panels look good, there's real wood on the
dash, and the leather seats even have classic-style racing belts.
So there's a very vintage feeling. And this interior is also a
reminder that these MGs are a great lesson in purist motoring. A
grippy three-spoke steering wheel, classic Jaeger gauges, and a
manual transmission - that's all you get because that's all you
need.
The engine is the correct 1250cc inline-four unit, and it has a
crisp and clean appearance of good maintenance over the years. So
it looks good and runs strong out on the road. It's a sprightly
machine with a light weight body, classic Pirelli tires, and
independent front suspension all making it feel nimble. The
drivetrain was built for you to go out and row through the gears of
the four-speed transmission and get the most out of this little
motor. The result is a car where you feel an instant connection in
everything you do, and that kind of purist motoring is absolutely
addictive.
There are details you may correct on your own time, like
conditioning the seat leather or upgrading the body bushings. But
overall, this is the quintessential British roadster offered with
nice extras and a terrific price. So don't miss this deal, call
today!
