Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Wagon
The Chevy II, later renamed the Nova, was introduced in 1962 and
was produced for 5 generations. Chevrolet set their sights on the
Ford Falcon and needed a car to compete. The idea was to give
Chevrolet fans a small compact vehicle that was simple in design.
They had a deadline and rushed production resulting in one of the
fastest development programs for GM. Only 18 months after getting
the green light the first Chevy II rolled out of the factory. While
the intention was simplicity with no big revolutionary features
this 1967 certainly abandoned that thought process. This wagon
belongs to the second generation of Chevy IIs and has been
completely transformed into a custom Gasser. Gassers were born on
the dragstrip back in the 50's and until the introduction of Pro
Stock cars these were the quickest stock appearing racers on the
streets. Characterized by their tall standing front ends and focus
on weight reduction these cars are so neat to see. This one has
been very well built with no corners cut throughout. The 4 door
station wagon body is in great condition and all rust free. It is
painted in a nice Burgundy paint and White top. It wears its
original chrome bumpers and stainless trim all of which has a nice
shine. Wheelie bars have been added in the back as well as a
battery kill switch mounted on the bumper. The rear wheels are
Rocket Injectors with knock off center caps wrapped in Mickey
Thompson ET Street tires. Under the front is polished Rocket
Launcher wheels with Nexen tires.
With no hood in place there is no hiding the 383 Stroker motor that
propels this cool gasser down the road. It is fitted with a TBS
(The Blower Shop) 671 blower, dual 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetors,
shotgun air cleaner, Comp Cam, MSD distributor, Moroso wires,
Hooker Super Competition headers, and braided lines. It is kept
running nice and cool thanks to the Griffin aluminum radiator with
dual electric fans. This thing runs strong and sounds great which
the dual exhaust dumping from each side. It has a 2 speed
powerglide transmission with transbrake that shifts smoothly. The
brakes have been converted to discs throughout and the car stops
with no issues. In back it has a 10 bolt rear end with 4 link and
adjustable coilover shocks. Under the rear is also the Jaz Products
fuel cell.
The interior is complete in all Black with 2 row bench seats. The
upholstery and carpet is all in excellent condition. It has RCi cam
lock harnesses up front and the rear seat has standard style lap
belts. The dash is painted in Black and has mostly a stock layout.
Additional Auto Meter gauges have been added under the dash for
Water/Oil/Volt/Fuel/Boost gauges. An Auto Meter tachometer with
shift light has also been mounted to the column. To the floor is
mounted an aluminum Hurst pistol grip quarter stick shifter with a
switch for the transbrake.
This cool Gasser has 1,000 miles on it since being completed and
needs nothing. It has to be near impossible to not have a smile on
your face sitting behind the steering wheel.
