Vehicle Description
This 1961 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is about an upgrade in V8 power,
upgraded in 4x4 components, and an overall upgrade in attitude. So
it still has the FJ look you love, but now with more of the
capability that you crave.
We love the Land Cruisers because they are rugged-built machines
with terrific off-road style. And this one really takes the
distinctiveness up a notch. After all, it still has that
unmistakable FJ look, but there's also the same kind of extra
ability you'd find on a custom Jeep CJ. It's finished in a bold
blue that knows how to stick out no matter if you're at the lake or
attacking a mud hole. There are plenty of attractive details you
want in a 4x4, like the fiberglass front fenders that give you
better suspension clearance, off-road polished wheels, and the rear
bodywork that's protected by diamond plate steel. Plus, those beefy
tubular steel bumpers are also set up to be air tanks. And while
all those metallic blue and silver pieces look good rolling through
town, this is no soft-roader glam machine, and the tall stance
means no one will ever accuse of that.
The interior is all about getting down to off-road business. That's
why this has been updated with proper off-road buckets in front
with full Crow harnesses. And the rear set has been sacrificed to
give you a protected fuel cell. A proper roll cage, B&M
shifters, and AutoMeter Sport-Comp readouts are all part of this
serious package. Even with this very rugged style, there's room for
the right comforts. You have a tilt steering column, an AM/FM/CD
stereo, and a large speaker box behind the seats. Plus, the bikini
top is there to keep the sunshine off your shoulders whenever you
want.
Under the hood is a serious upgrade in power with a Chevy 350
cubic-inch V8. It inhales deeply with a that has been enhanced with
an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with added
power and authority as headers feed the dual exhaust. And an
aluminum radiator with an electric fan helps keep the full package
running cool. The two-speed transfer 4x4 case is enhanced by the
lifted suspension, Walker Evans Rugged Trail shocks, and Pro Comp
Mud Terrain tires to give you some serious go-anywhere prowess. And
the TH400 three-speed gearbox is a stout GM unit. But for those
times when you just want to cruise a little, this automatic
transmission is also a smooth shifter. There's also power steering,
power brakes, and front discs. So while you won't be using this FJ
on the daily commute, it has some nice driving features.
This is the classic FJ with extra power and ruggedness. It's
distinctive, capable, and absolutely cool. So if you want to lead
the charge up the hill, call today!
