For Sale: 1955 Studebaker Champion in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

This 1955 Studebaker Champion is believed to be coming off of over 40 years of ownership. During that time, it has been given a few touches of hot rod style, including a small block V8 upgrade. It all makes for a distinct cruiser offered at a nice price.

The two-door Champions of this generation have quite a sporty style. The long hood, well-laced trim, a hint of tailfin, and form-hugging chrome bumpers are the ideal base for a touch of custom style. And this one has been given hints of a hot rod with the dog dish hub caps, side exhaust cutouts, and large rear exhaust tips. Plus, the grille and hood now tilt forward for that added touch of uniqueness. The full package is done in a newer application of bold red. It has a bright style and a street machine style driver-ready appearance. It's more about going towards the heart of the overall theme. This Champion has evolved with the personal tastes of the owner, and so the appearance tells the story of 40 years of fun and effort. So this one likes to put that history on display where the flaws are a catalyst to tell the story. And the value price leaves room in your budget to do your own evolution on this Studebaker for the next four decades to come.

Just like the exterior, the interior is unique and attractive. The black seats with red cloth inserts are quite attractive, especially because the door panels have been done to match. It's clean and comfortable, which makes this a fine classic to share with family and friends. But the upgraded gauges, machine-turned dash panel, and Hurst floor shifter mean this one is fun even when there's no one else along for the ride.

The Champions were usually inline-six cars. That's a fine motor, but it's not as much fun as a V8. So this one has a 305 cubic-inch small block V8. We all know how much they like upgrades, and so this one has a four-barrel carburetor, an HEI distributor, and a mild cam. It's just the right amount of upgraded for a little extra fun, and if you're looking for more, we bet you already know a few weekend upgrades that unlock even more power. And you can even choose your level of rumble between the glasspack-style dual exhaust or use the cutouts to bypass them. Plus, features like the three-speed automatic transmission and newer touring tires make this a solid cruiser.

This is a custom Studebaker that has had its distinction carefully built up over decades. So if you like a unique classic and a value price, call today!
