HIGHLIGHTS: This is an honest old pickup with a clean body and a
good paint job. It is in perfect condition for use as a truck and
as an affordable weekend cruiser! But if you are looking to build a
custom truck this unmolested pickup is a great candidate.
BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Ford appears straight, but does
show some minor wear from use as a truck. This truck appears to
have received a refresh at some point, but it is unlikely that it
has received a full restoration. It isn't beat up by any means, but
it is clear this truck was not refreshed with intent to do anything
other than look pretty and do truck stuff.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The paint appears recent, and is a good
paint job. Bear in mind that this is not an award-winning
show-quality paint job, but it is more than good enough for daily
driver duty or weekend use as a real pickup. This truck will not
need a new paint job any time soon, and always cleans up
nicely!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior condition is very similar
to that of the exterior. Through and through, this truck is what we
would describe as the perfect driver candidate. If you're looking
for a classic truck to use as a truck, this is an ideal choice.
While there is some visible wear on some interior components and
some normal damage to the steering wheel, it is just right for the
casual handyperson looking for a classic pickup.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: This truck drives well and runs smoothly,
however the carburetor can be a little finicky and the manual choke
will be your best friend. That being said, the three-speed manual
column shifter seems to shift as smoothly as one can expect and
makes driving this truck a blast! While it does have manual
steering (like any real truck should) it seems to track as straight
as can be expected of an old pickup. The buzzy little inline
six-cylinder is perfect for a light-duty classic pickup being used
for runs to the parts store or weekend cruising.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The fact that it isn't overdone,
and has been left in its original configuration! This truck is nice
enough to turn heads, but you won't feel bad throwing some branches
or car parts in the bed.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you don't like beige, column
shifted manuals, or Fords, you're bound to hate this truck!
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The carburetor could use some tweaking or
possibly a rebuild.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? There are a variety of buyers
for this truck, and it is sure to please most of them. Whether you
want a fun little weekend run around, or you're shopping for a
truck and can't justify the cost of a new one, this F100 is a great
candidate.
