Vehicle Description
While trading ergonomics for performance is a pretty common idea in
the automotive realm, this low-mileage GTS is proof that you don't
always have to choose. So, step right up and celebrate comfort AND
speed in one of Ferrari's most approachable models!
It's no secret that the 328 is one of the most recognized Ferraris
ever produced, and much of that lore is built around the model's
dashing Pininfarina-penned profile. In addition to creating a car
that advanced the unique design language of the planar 308, Ferrari
needed a suitable platform for their fresh 3.2 liter V8. Hence, the
328 was born and, naturally, offered in both GTB coupe and GTS
targa models. Over time the 328's retro appeal has been codified by
blocky, decidedly '80s bodywork that's pierced by aggressive
louvers. And in the case of this classic, those distinctly Italian
lines are graced by a fantastic coat of Rosso Corsa pigment.
Employing standard fuel injection and Ferrari's newly minted
Quattrovalvole technology, this targa's 3.2 liter DOHC V8 is
officially named Tipo F105CB. That storied mill spins a solid 266
horsepower through a 5-speed transaxle. There's a fully independent
suspension that's stopped by four disc brakes. And in front of
those brakes, attractive alloys spin 205/55R16 Bridgestone Potenzas
in front of 225/50R16 Bridgestone Potenzas.
The interior of the GTS is a cocoon of predictable, two-tone
luxury. Standard bucket seats sport rich leather hides. Between
those seats, a thin console toggles a polished shifter in front of
factory climate control. At the front of that console, a warp-free
dash frames vintage telemetry and a modern Sony CD player. And in
front of the driver, a simple steering wheel laps a familiar
prancing horse.
