Here's your chance to get behind the wheel of a classic Chevy truck
that features a factory appearance tastefully enhanced with a
little modification, as well as road readiness that's hard to find
in trucks of its era. This 1969 Chevrolet C10 is running great and
has received just the right attention to leave it looking
customized enough to set it apart from the crowd and as fresh as it
did when it rolled off the line nearly a half century ago.
The bright red paint featured on this classic's exterior is a great
match for its form. The shade of red is a couple of levels more
electric than the version Chevy offered when this truck was new and
adds substantial visual impact, though a good cut and buff would
take it up a notch. A gracefully-shaped cowl hood sits front and
center on its hood for some aftermarket cachet and extra clearance,
yet still very much in keeping with this C10's rugged, serious
demeanor. The two stretches of trim running the length of its sides
provide evidence of how straight and well-aligned this truck is -
notice how level they are as you trace them from front to back. The
exterior fixtures look just as fresh as you could hope for - not
only is the trim in good form, but both bumpers are table level and
show no dings, and the glass on all four sides is surrounded by
fresh looking rubber seals.
Take your place on the very clean black vinyl bench seat and you'll
appreciate this Chevy's balance of classic nostalgia and real-world
comfort even more. You won't find much evidence of wear across its
surface and it's well-padded enough to provide plenty of comfort -
even on longer trips. On both sides, the door panels have been
refurbished to match the seating and sit tight and flush. In front
of the stock Chevy steering wheel, the dash area has also been the
lucky recipient of some serious effort, as its smooth red surface
could only result from being taken down to bare steel before being
repainted. The contrasting textured chrome of the instrument
cluster adds a great look, and it houses an assortment of easily
readable factory gauges that sit in place alongside a trio of
aftermarket Sunpro counterparts to keep a read on motoring
functions. Just above, the black vinyl dash pad shows no warpage or
tears across its surface. Everything looks good in back, too - the
bed area features a liner that has done its job well.
Worry-free drivability is a prized commodity in vintage vehicles
and you'll find it here in this C10. The 327 cubic inch V8 sitting
under the hood starts up quickly and runs with confidence-inspiring
smoothness. It carries a chrome air cleaner and valve covers to
enhance its look and they set off the signature orange of the Chevy
engine nicely. With a Holley 4-barrel sitting on top for a little
more power, this truck sounds plenty strong as it exhales into its
factory headers. The powerplant pairs with a 3-speed automatic
TH350 transmission to make for a drivetrain that's in very good
form and fully capable of seeing frequent use. The featured power
steering makes navigation a breeze. This great-looking, road-ready
workhorse sits on a set of 15" stock Chevy rims, outfitted with
Cooper Cobra G/T radials.
If you want a sharp looking classic truck that comes complete with
the road-readiness you'd want in a frequent driver, you have to
