The unrestored, original condition of this rare 1960 Buick Electra
225 Convertible elevates the car with an extra measure of beauty
and character. Its current availability from MAXmotive thus offers
the discriminating enthusiast an exciting opportunity. Fewer than
6800 of this model were produced, and only a small fraction survive
in original condition. The top-of-the-line Wildcat 445 version of
Buick's storied 401ci Nailhead V8 powers the car with vim and
vigor, yielding 325 horsepower and a robust 445 lb/ft of torque.
Smoothness, a long-established Buick attribute, is tuned into the
Twin-Turbine Dynaflow automatic transmission. This highly-optioned
example features power steering, power brakes, power windows, power
seats, and a power-operated convertible top. A unique feature of
the 1960 Buick is the Mirromatic Dash, which allows you to adjust
the angle at which you view the instruments to increase comfort and
reduce glare. The time-honored combination of Sable Black exterior
paint and a red leather interior lends an element of elegant
sportiness. Buick used a new type of lacquer in 1960, as explained
in a label in the glove box. The formula's success is clearly seen
in the remarkable condition of the paint. Of course, this car was
well cared-for, and has amassed a mere 52071 miles in its 60-plus
years of service. The Electra's position at the top of the Buick
line is shown in such design elements as the massive curved
windshield, large chrome bumpers, wide bright rocker panel
moldings, and four of the reintroduced venti-ports on the fenders.
Other models had just three. 1960 also brought the introduction of
Buick's tri-shield logo, which still represents the brand today.
The final touch are the Super Deluxe wheelcovers, which on this
example are paired with made-in-USA whitewall radial tires for ride
and handling commensurate with the Electra's elegant appearance. In
the proud tradition of American luxury automobiles, MAXmotive is
pleased to offer this stately 1960 Buick Electra 225 Convertible.
