This car underwent extensive work in the past and completed approximately 14 years ago with limited usage since. The Cornet 500 was the top of the line offering for the Coronet series and this one with a period correct (1968 year) 383CI/335 HP powerhouse. This run of 5th generation (1965-1970) Coronets have certainly held a position in the highly desirable category and the "500" (383Ci) with a modest price point as compared to its 440/RT/GTX brothers. This car certainly flexes its muscle while showing off its classic burgundy exterior (paint code correct) with rear stripe against the shine of the Magnum wheels wrapped with redline tires. Interior shows just as well in preserved fashion including excellent headliner, seats and door panels and dash presentation all with the classic desirable bucket/console layout. Factory this car was a 383Ci (5th VIN "G") and currently presents a period correct drivetrain, 383Ci HP (High Perf/335HP) engine feeding the stout 727 3/speed automatic through to the rear differential with all receiving full overhaul in the past. This car retains its factory air conditioning system, power steering and manual braking with an upgrade to include front disc conversion for improved braking performance. Overall, this Coronet 500 shows 109k (believed to be accurate) total miles to date with only 3k miles in the past 8yrs under its current owner. This car shows very well for its age, it is a really nice driver with typical imperfections after years of caring ownership since restoration. For review notables, there is a small amount of paint pop in several lower/very bottom panels (see pictures) but overall, this car is in very good condition exterior wise. Mechanically this car is ready to go, the engine runs great, the car drives great, the A/C is fully intact but nonfunctioning at this time. The factory radio is intact but currently inoperable.
