"Pontiac is a well-known American brand that existed until 2010
under the patronage of General Motors. Although it doesn't exist
now, the brand was super popular at a time, quickly surpassing its
parent company with a unique line of cars. The Pontiac Firebird was
one of those series produced from 1967 to 2002 as one of the most
popular muscle cars on the market.
What every real Pontiac fan knows is that the Trans Am makes one of
the most praised models within this lineup."
- Hotcars
This iconic 1977 Pontiac Trans Am originally bought from Hollomon
Pontiac Inc. in Hampton VA has remained in the same family since
new. Although there has been modifications after it left the
dealership this Trans Am was originally delivered as a Special
Edition Package (Y82) Trans Am which has been verified by the PHS
documents.
This well documented Trans Am was transformed into its current
configuration in 1986 by Sheridan's Customs utilizing a kit by
Scorpion Fiberglass Trends. At that time not only was the body
transformed Recaro seats were added to the interior as well as a
roll bar.
The Pontiac had a body refresh including fresh paint in 2011 and
has remained with few miles since. Mechanically the motor was
rebuilt in 1983 and continues to run well. The correct, numbers
matching 6.6-liter motor is mated to a 3-speedd automatic
transmission that shifts and pulls through the gears as
expected.
This Trans Am is uniquely modified and should appeal to the Pontiac
or muscle car enthusiasts looking for something a little
different.
