Vehicle Description
West Coast Classics are proud to present a beautiful example of
this true original southern California survivor rust free 1965 Ford
Mustang 2 door hardtop with believed to be some 69K original miles
and built in San Jose, California and with the highly desirable 289
2V 'C' code V8 engine and repainted in 'Springtime Yellow' color
paint with a new custom 'Pearl White' interior trim with Bucket
Seats, original C4 automatic transmission, power steering, air
conditioning, AM/FM radio, 2.80:1 rear axle, built in the first
year of production, and boasting it's original California 1960's
issued 'Black License Plates'.Ford's biggest success of the sixties
and the originator of the 'Pony car' concept was essentially a
sporty compact car but with a now legendary long hood and short
deck proportions, built on Falcon and Fairlane chassis and
drive-train components, the Ford Mustang was introduced in April
1964 as '65 models and within a year became the fastest selling car
of all time; with these early production cars now carrying special
favor and becoming fondly known as 64 1/2 models by Mustang
enthusiasts! The upgraded V8 from the Falcon six cylinder engine
was the 260 c.i. V8 produced on the same assembly line with other
1964 Fords, these early models were titled as 1965 models although
they were actually from the 1964 production era. After September
1964 the 260 V8 was dropped in favor of the larger 289 V8.Recently
acquired by us and obviously always well kept, always garaged and
looked after and only restored as required with one repaint in
'Springtime Yellow' color. The car has factory power steering and
must be driven to be fully appreciated - the engine is extremely
strong and responsive with excellent oil pressure and no noticeable
oil leaks and the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears
and the engine temperature always remains cool. The car is still
very striking with one very professional and still absolutely
presentable repaint in 'Springtime Yellow' factory color paint and
a beautiful new custom 'Pearl White' interior which is still in
fabulous condition with no noticeable flaws and a wood steering
wheel and an original dashboard that looks as it must have when it
left the factory floor over 55 years ago! This is is one very fine
example of this very collectible and desirable original southern
California first generation model of the legendary Ford Mustang in
turn-key ready daily appreciating, daily driving and daily
head-turning condition! You will look long and harder to find a
finer example of this highly sought after original southern
California 'Black license plate' 1965 first generation Mustang
coupe if there ever was one!
