strode onto the automotive stage with a rakish look of motion and a
modestly wrapped windshield, helping Ford to break its sales record
that had been set in 1953. The Fairlane replaced the Crestline as
the upper level of trim, the name coming from the Ford family
estate in Dearborn. But the Fairlane to have was the product of
combining a lowered version of the familiar Victoria hardtop roof
with a striking stainless steel crown, hence the nomenclature. Our
beautiful 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria is a fine
representative of an era when bling was the thing! Lift the hood
and you'll be greeted by a rebuilt and correct 292 ci Y-block
that's been fortified with a 312 crank ( now 304 ci), Edelbrock
carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, dual exhaust, and an open
element air cleaner. Additional features include power steering,
power front disc brake conversion, power windows, air conditioning,
3-speed manual transmission with overdrive, an auxiliary
tachometer, and a Pioneer stereo. Maybelline here, as she was
lovingly named, is sporting good chrome, stainless, paint, carpet,
and upholstery. And as beautiful as the exterior is, the interior,
particularly the two-tone upholstery and stainless crown that
