An absolute joy to drive.... Hotcars.com, January 2021 The
website's retrospective on the 2002 911 Turbo continued: While it
was clear that the Turbo had a strong engine, this car was also
worth praising for its ability to make driving so exciting and how
it didn't exhaust the driver on long rides. It was amazing to
witness how the treasured Turbo reigned supreme in every
department: The engine was mighty for its time, the exterior was
eye-catching, and the car's speed was insane. Even though
production was short-lived, the Turbo was a leading example of the
qualities that future sports cars should possess. Overall, Porsche
produced an excellent car that deserved the wonderful reviews it
received. The 996 Turbo inspired automakers and revolutionized the
sports car realm. The Germans knew how to amaze and set
unprecedented standards that were hard to beat. Offered here is a
2002 Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera Coupe, black-on-black. Delivered new
to Williams Auto World of Okemos, Michigan, the car was specially
ordered (this would later come to be known as Porsche Exclusiv)
with additional custom features including Porsche logos embossed in
the seat headrests, 3-spoke leather-covered steering wheel,
aluminum instrument dials, and aluminum shifter and brake handles.
Included in the sale and shown in the gallery is the original
factory window sticker listing all standard and optional features.
The current odometer reading is 34,598 miles, or fewer than 1,800
miles per-year on average since new in the hands of its sole owner.
A sparingly driven, well-kept Michigan sports car, it's evident
this special 911 Turbo never experienced winter roads. The exterior
paint finish is excellent. Black-on-black is a longtime classic
Porsche combination often chosen by purists. Here, the gloss is
high and the surface smooth-as-glass. (To best assess the quality
of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up
photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) All body
panels-including the Turbo-specific front fascia, rear
(speed-deployed) spoiler, and rear-quarter panels-are free of
dings, dents, or other damage. Even door handles, often the victims
of minor scratches, are extremely well-kept. Lightly tinted cabin
glass and all lighting lenses are clear and free of cracks.
Badging, including the Porsche hood crest and simple script turbo
rear model designations, is crisp and unfaded. Turbo-twist 18-inch
wheels are mounted with Sumitomo® 225/50 front and 255/45 rear
tires. The wheel openings allow unobstructed views of the
Porsche-branded red brake calipers and cross-drilled brake rotors.
The black leather interior makes for a striking design statement
adding drama to the black exterior. The flowing design of the
dashboard, controls, and door panels is a 996 trademark. The
leather upholstery on the front buckets and two rear jump seats is
both simple and timeless. The optional aluminum touches on the
6-speed manual-transmission shifter and the emergency-brake lever
add flair. All interior surfaces appear original to the car, and
all have been maintained with care: there is no excessive wear much
less damage to any hard-plastic surface, leather, or carpeting. The
car's black headliner shows no wear. Even the turbo-branded
step-over door sills retain their original appearance. The
optional, leather-covered 3-spoke, black steeri
