Vehicle Description
This 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE is a very vintage pickup. It also has
fuel-injected V8 power, a bed liner, and a feature-filled A/C
interior. So when it's both loaded and useful, it makes for the
right mix of a cool classic and a handy asset...all for an
affordable price.
This was one of the first years for the new style Sierra. It set a
new tone in pickups where there could be sleeker without losing any
of that professional grade attitude. That's why we like finding one
that looks so authentic. The chrome bumper, rally wheels, and
two-tone are all part of the classic and premium SLE trim. The
paint is even believed to be a nice mix of original in some areas
and resprayed in the right places to keep this looking glossy and
attractive. Everything from full-length pinstripes to the upgraded
dual exhaust tips give this a stylish presentation. But the full
liner paint in the bed reminds you that the best pickups also know
how to get to work.
Inside is more of the well-done classic attitude. So you get a
classic bench seat but with added contouring, a driver's armrest,
and comfy cloth upholstery that came on this new generation of
Sierra. The carpeting, door panels, and the smooth dash pad all
have a stock look in a nice and deep red. In fact, while this is
shown to be an actual mileage pickup, it really feels closer to a
lost time capsule. Plus, more of the benefits of the SLE trim are
seen in the nice features like power windows, power locks, a tilt
steering column, cruise control, sliding rear glass, and cold R134A
air conditioning. It's exceptionally stock, and so the largest
upgrade you're likely to notice is the AM/FM/CD stereo, and that's
even a bit of an incognito unit.
Under the hood is GM's hardy 5.7-liter small block, and it comes
from the time when the factory was installing fuel injection from
day one. This has the right look of proper upkeep, right down to
the working hood light. It's quite clean and complete, so it's easy
to spot investment in newer pieces like the alternator and A/C
compressor. It fires up and drives with the confidence of a
well-respected FI machine. Plus, you have easy driving features
like power steering, a Positraction rear end, and power brakes with
front discs. This also has a four-speed automatic transmission with
highway-friendly overdrive to really enjoy this one near or
far.
This is the impressively stock and well-presented GMC that's
vintage, useful, distinct, and affordable. So don't miss this
