class setting performance, Buick relied on a series of more modest
turbocharged Regals to prop up its luxury performance aspirations
and pay the bills. This was the final year for the T-Type package
in the Regal, and it really makes for quite a distinctive vehicle.
It splits the difference between the aggressive Grand National and
luxury-minded standard Regal. That's why you have the aggressive
dark package on the front spoiler, grille, headlight bezels, and
window trim. Even the sporty wheels are shared with the Grand
National. And as distinctive as this car is, more people opted for
either the regular Regal or the full GN package, which makes this
genuine T-Type Turbo rather rare. Exterior black paint has been
professionally resprayed and really shines beautifully. Inside is
more of the unique balance of comfort and luxury. After all, not
too many other Buicks came with a driver-oriented bucket seat
interior w/center console. Yours even power adjusts to the ideal
position. You get all the best in premium features, like beautiful
gray leather seats, power windows, power locks, cruise control,
upgraded Jensen CD/AM/FM radio, and it blows cold A/C. The moonroof
is always a desirable feature for that sporty feel. You get a
three-spoke sports steering wheel that's designed to give you an
excellent view of the instrument cluster. What really makes this
one so special is what's under the hood. Anyone who ordered a
T-Type package automatically received a Regal equipped with a
Turbocharged 3.8-liter V6. Along with the Turbocharged engine, the
T-Type designation came complete with a special performance
suspension package, special wheels, and T-Type emblems
strategically placed throughout, among other things. This was
Buick's M.O. through 1986. But remember, the four-speed automatic
transmission is not only there for quick shifting action but also
for overdrive comfort. The T-Type represented the best of both
worlds. Its sleeper looks spoke of elegance and style while still
able to eat up the quarter mile in 13 seconds. Don't sleep on this
