For Sale: 1990 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy in Mesa, Arizona
Classic Car Addict is proud to present this awesome 1990 Harley
Davidson Fat Boy for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. Long the bike
of choice for leather-jacketed Marlon Brando imitators and Hell's
Angels, Harley-Davidsons have now become the hottest thing on two
wheels for the rest of the world. Rock stars and Hollywood actors
are just the latest to discover this classic. Only 4,400 "Yellow
Head" units were built, created by Willie G. Davidson and Louie
Netz. Harley-Davidson has responded energetically to meet the
growing demand, particularly from Europe, for its cycles with new
superbikes still based on its immortal V-twin engine. Massive,
elegant, and stripped to the bare essentials, the latest Fat Boy
seems to have ridden straight out of the Fifties. This Fat Boy,
however, represents an entirely new concept. Impressive but still
exceptionally smooth, the power unit has become more reliable. The
frame, though it looks exactly like the old, rigid Harley set-up,
conceals twin shock absorbers beneath its gearbox. Not very many
people know the history of a first edition Silver Fat Boy. The name
is reminiscent of the atomic bombs named "Fatman" and "LittleBoy"
that were dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The naming of the bike
was not meant to offend, rather, it was done as a tribute to a
certain period in time. If you notice the Fat Boy's gas-tank emblem
it somewhat resembles a U.S.A.F. wing emblem. The bombs where
silver in color and had distinctive yellow rings painted on them.
The motorcycle has seven yellow rings painted throughout the bike -
one on the ignition ring, one on the primary inspection cover, two
on the tank, one on the cam cover and two on the head covers. You
definitely do not want to change the gun metal gray on the tank and
fenders or frame on this first edition collector. With little
advertising of the purpose behind this color scheme, the bike is
now a very collectible item. This Fat Boy does have upgraded LED
lights as well. Like almost any new Harley, there is nothing
revolutionary about the Fat Boy. It starts with a Softail chassis,
an Evolution engine and a fat, car-worthy, 16-inch front tire; in
other words, it's much the same as the Heritage Softail and the
Softail Classic. What's different is the Fat Boy's monochromatic
paint and beefier styling, making it seemingly more solid than any
other machine in the H-D lineup. Most of that hefty look comes from
the extraordinarily wide FLH-style handlebar, the broad, valanced
fenders and the solid, aluminum-dish wheels on the front and rear
of the machine. But while it looks much heavier than the other
Softails, in reality it weighs in at 660 pounds; about the same as
other H-D's. With its timeless good looks, the Fat Boy is the
quintessential Harley- Davidson - and the best bike of its kind
currently in production. This will be sold on a clean Arizona
title, with receipts for upgrades and work done. Don't miss out on
