Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1976 Chevrolet Nova
Pro-Street for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. A completely restyled
Nova was introduced in 1975 and continued through 1979. Base
coupes, including the hatchback, had fixed side windows (or
optional flip-out windows) and vertical vents on the B-pillar. You
can just tell when someone has invested big time in a serious
street machine. This 1976 Chevy Nova Pro Street has much more going
for it than just the paint. While its grabbing all your attention,
the full race-ready package is ready to blow the doors off. Nova's
have always been a great place to start for a speed machine kind of
custom because these were born with a lightweight nature that
doesn't leave out a substantial presence. These coupes started life
as the budget Chevys, but the upgrade to Gray paint delivers a
sleek shine to bring out the stylized creases GM put into this
design. These were already an exercise in minimum chrome accents,
and so painting the bumpers (now lightweight fiberglass) really
gives this a sleek modern look. Of course, the pieces of chrome
everyone will really be looking at is the set of stylized alloys by
racing master Mickey Thompson. They can't help but draw attention
to the massive rear racing tires and street-eating forward stance.
We also can't talk about the exterior brightwork without addressing
the elephant in the room, or more appropriately on the hood. The
big air grabber adds a great stylized touch with plenty of polish,
and more importantly, this piece sits above the hood like a big
flag warning others not to mess with what's directly below it. Open
the door, and this Nova is a bit surprising. It's
competition-ready, but it's also finished to quite a nice standard.
For example, everything is done in black, including the race seats
with five-point harness for driver and passenger. Door poppers were
added to doors and trunk, and original door handles removed on
exterior of the Nova. Push button start and a Momo steering wheel
with line lock directly on the wheel with nitrous shot button. Of
course, there are also the right professional pieces, like the
Simpson racing harness, and a full roll cage. The trunk continues
the roll cage for extra bracing and carries the right pieces like
the fuel cell and battery tray. The custom dash is full of crisp
AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges and correct toggle switches. Nitrous
injection with nitrous tank is mounted to the trunk (no bottle).
Your right hand is instantly attracted to the B&M wig lock
shifter, and that goes great with the vehicle. Ok, we won't leave
you in suspense any longer about the monster motor. As the
fiberglass hood lifts, you can see the show-worthy shine on all the
components. It's a Summit ATK 454 500HP stage 2 crate motor. It has
some serious performance upgrades, Summit 700R4 with overdrive,
hardened drive line (custom). March performance style track
serpentine system really grabs your attention while the custom-made
radiator from Be Cool with overfill and custom large fans to
prevent overheating. And those dual Edelbrock 700 CFM four-barrel
carburetors feed into an Eldelbrock high rise aluminum intake. All
this muscle is then sent to a Summit 10-bolt rear end with 4:11
Summit gears with posi-traction. The final step to make sure all
this power meets the pavement is the reinforced four-link rear and
BF Goodwrench P215/70R14 in the front and Nitto P275/60R15's on the
rear with Cragar SS rims. Stopping is easy with Wilwood power front
disc and power rear drum. This Nova is both mean on the drag strip
and street worthy. Don't miss out on this awesome, ready-to-go
