Vehicle Description
After a successful seven years of production with the C5, Chevy
gave it a grand exit with a special edition. This 2004 Chevrolet
Corvette Commemorative Edition convertible is a pristine, low
mileage example of the car that celebrated the model that added new
life to the 'Vette tradition. This even specially recognized
back-to-back victories at the 24 Hours Le Mans.
There is only one way to get a C5 in this beautiful code 19L Lemans
Blue Metallic. It was part of the 2004 Commemorative Edition (Z15),
and only 2,659 convertibles ever received this treatment. They even
gave these an exclusive special badge on the hood that reminds
everyone of the C5's dominance at the 24 Hours of LeMans. But
exclusivity is not the only thing that distinguishes this drop-top
'Vette. It's a low-mileage example that was clearly only used as a
pleasure craft and not a commuter. That means the panels have a
smooth style and the original paint still retains an
attention-commanding shine. Chevrolet has always been good about
making rare Corvettes extra stylish, and exclusively offering the
Shale folding roof for the Z15 package is part of that
masterstroke. But this one also turns the style up a notch. There
are tinted windows, and the quad exhaust tips are larger and
brighter for the right performance look. And the polished alloys
are borrowed from a C7 Corvette (the factory polished alloys can
also be made available if desired.)
If you like the look of the Shale top against the exterior blue,
then you'll love to take it down and showcase the full Shale
interior. And yes, this is another exclusive feature. Just in case
people did not yet pick up on the other hints that it's a
distinctive Corvette, they get reminders of the LeMans victory in
the specially embroidered headrests. Beyond the desirability of a
distinctive convertible, you'll also love this Corvette for its
loaded interior. It includes dual-zone climate control,
leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual airbags, AM/FM/CD stereo (with
additional XM satellite radio), power windows, power locks, an
anti-theft system, and keyless entry. Low mileage means little seat
time, and so the leather bucket seats hardly show a crease. Plus,
they're power adjustable so you and your passenger can find the
perfect comfort position. As much as you may want to just collect
this car, there's also an undeniable practical side. You get a
trunk that's far more spacious than most other two-person sports
cars, and so this special Corvette is also the best choice for a
weekend getaway machine. It's this collectible-but-enjoyable dual
nature you'll see everywhere on this car. That's why there are
black floor and trunk mats put down to show less dirt and the XM
radio was nicely integrated. You even get the correct factory mats
and ashtray if you want to show the full stock style.
Part of what made the C5 such a great car is the debut of the LS1
V8. It ignited a whole new generation of Chevy V8 enthusiasts, and
so it's worth celebrating. That's why this motor looks extra tidy
and has upgraded red covers (the factory units also come with the
sale.). This 5.7-liter fuel-injected powerhouse can be every-day
easy, but just a prod of the accelerator unleashes a growling power
beast. This convertible comes with a four-speed automatic overdrive
transmission, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, cruise
control, and a fully independent double-wishbone suspension. Plus,
its theme of the right well-paced driver's features includes an
Optima red top battery, Hotchkis sway bars, and a Corsa exhaust
that unleashes even more of that awesome V8 tune.
The sale comes complete with nice paperwork like the reproduction
buildsheet, reproduction window sticker, and the owner's manual.
